DIY smoking devices that you can make with household items

The industry is certainly growing in popularity and we are not seeing this stop anytime soon. Cannabis can be consumed in a number of ways, but smoking is certainly one of the most popular.

While many people are content to use bongs, pipes, or roll paper while smoking, you may not always have access to these nearby. Thankfully, there are actually several household items that can be made into a DIY smoking device, and this blog post features a few of them.

Pin tube

Using a pen pipe is one of the most discreet ways to smoke. It’s about taking a pen apart and essentially using it as a one-hitter. You take off both the cap and the bottom of the pen. Then, unscrew the metal tip of the pen and remove the ink cartridge. You will then be left with the empty pen that doubles as a whistle.

The metal journey from yesteryear is what functions as a bowl. Just flip it over and insert it backwards into the pen. Next, just pack your favorite flower in the makeshift bowl, light it, and place your mouth against the other end of the pen and inhale. Make sure you hold it together well and that the piece of metal doesn’t fall out.

Apple cane

This is an old classic that will certainly work in a pinch. Not only that, it’s easy too. The first step is to remove the stem that makes up the bowl. Next, poke a hole through the apple and one side of the hole is the mouthpiece and the other is the carburetor.

Then add a couple of small holes in the top of the apple, making sure they line up with the center hole to allow the smoke to flow. Next, grab the top of the apple with the flower, light it, inhale on one of the sides of the center hole, then place one finger over the other.

Gravity bong

Another home improvement favorite is the gravity bong. It may offer the best experience with one of the options, but is a little more complicated than the others in terms of creation. For this device you will need a plastic water bottle or 2 liter soda, a mason jar or other reservoir, aluminum foil, and some water.

Remove the plastic cap from the bottle, poke a hole in it and insert the foil into the cap. This will be the bowl. Then fill the glass about halfway with water, cut off the lid of the bottle and swim it in the water. Insert your flower into the hole in the cap, tighten the bottle, light it, and then remove the cap. Simply slide the bottle down into the water, which will shoot the smoke up and up through the bottle mouthpiece.
