This innovative online head shop sells glass that is greatly increased and affordable

You should never settle for a boring bong or rig, especially now that headshops are online. The glassmakers from Hemper take the head shop to the next level with self-designed curated bongs and rigs.

At Hemper, design and function go hand in hand. Each piece tells a story, from bizarre to nostalgic to simply cool. Sometimes a hit amplifies the visual effect by swirling clouds of smoke around the piece, making it a dynamic work of art.

While the experienced glass connoisseur has a lot to browse here, Hemper also offers you a complete setup with everything you need for bongs and rigs, as well as a little more. Like the best personal head shops, they make sure you have everything you need to get started.

Do you have problems making a decision? Hemper also offers subscription boxes with which you can save a lot of money on glass and accessories.

Bong vs. Rig

You are probably familiar with the concept of a bong or a water pipe. It’s a device for smoking cannabis flowers, similar to a regular old pipe, but with a watery chamber that collects and cools the smoke before you inhale it. Typically, you will light the cannabis in a bowl that will separate from the bar to release the smoke.

“Dab rig” might be a newer term even for some seasoned cannabis users. The simplest explanation is that a rig is a bong for concentrated cannabis or blobs instead of dry herb – with a few distinctive features.

The “bowl” of a swab rig is a “nail” or “bang” with a handle that usually has a 90-degree bend. Instead of heating your cannabis in the nail, first heat the nail and then apply the cannabis with a long tool called a swab so you don’t get burned.

The practical difference is that a rig uses convection heat instead of a bong that uses conductive heat. Your concentrates in your swab are heated indirectly by the nail, while your flower in your bong is heated directly by a lighter.

Many Hemper bongs and rigs are versatile and are ideal for flower bowls and bangers.

High quality bongs

UFO Vortex Bong

Your cannabis will take you to Area 51 with this six-inch bong. It landed for the first time in February 2019 and has two chambers with a secret alien technology: inlets in the upper chamber draw smoke from below into a vortex of steam. A sticker of an unsuspecting cow completes the classic aesthetic.

Hit that bong right off the top of the UFO and get ready for a galaxy brain.

Crystal ball bong

This mystical piece is small but full of powerful magic. It’s hard to find a compact piece that really hits smoothly, but this crystal ball hides a clever little trick: a ring of internal holes that allow clouds of smoke to flow through the ball, creating a storm effect. It adds an extra bit of visual magic to each drag – and it gives the hit a little more time to cool down. As part of Hemper’s September 2020 box, it was put on the doorstep for the first time.

Rip-ready rigs

Pineapple Rig V2

Get ready for a cool, tropical vibe with refreshing hits straight from a glass pineapple in the middle of this rig. The large globe chamber stacks bubbles and smoke, and a shower head percolator distributes the smoke for smoother cracks. The Hemper design team debuted this little island vacation in April 2019.

Jellyfish Jar Rig

Relive the nostalgia of your childhood with Hemper’s first piece with the theme SpongeBob SquarePants from June 2020. The friendly blue or pink jellyfish takes the hit first and cools the smoke. And at just seven inches tall, it’s nice and compact and portable. The straw-shaped mouthpiece is a convenient way to sip your smoke.

This is just a sneak preview of Hemper’s wide range of in-house rigs and bongs. Visit hemper.co to find the perfect glass for your collection – and pick up smoking accessories like grinders and papers while you’re there.
