Easter is the time to get together with friends and/or family. While some start the day in church, many others enjoy a drink while celebrating. The holiday ranks behind Mardi Gras, Christmas, Black Friday and St. Patrick's Day as a drinking holiday. But why not add something juicy and colorful to your daily schedule? All of these go well with eggs and sweets. Here are some fun and easy Easter cocktails!

The Lent Buster

Lent is a 40-day period during which people usually give up something they love (drinks, chocolate, social media) as a sign of faith and sacrifice. This cocktail was created at 5 Point Café in Seattle, Washington. Mixologist Sean Dunlap wanted something festive, fun and gentle. Regular Dan Luczkiewicz said the only thing wrong with this drink is that it's delicious and you'll want another one! Cafe owner David Meinert agrees and it will be featured at the famous pub over the holidays.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounces of tequila, maybe a blanco
  • 4 ounces pineapple juice
  • Dash of cranberry

Create

  • Pour into a highball glass
  • Add tequila and pineapple juice
  • And a splash of cranberry juice for color
  • Stir and enjoy!

The Peep-a-lious

Peeps have been an icon of Easter since the Just Born company released the colorful confection in the 1950s. Why not combine a classic with vodka and make it even more enjoyable? Consider reviving a childhood tradition, but instead of dying eggs, dye champagne.

Ingredients

  • 2 ounce of vanilla vodka
  • 1 oz Blue Curacao
  • Diet Sprite
  • Blue Peep for garnish

Create

  • Pour ice into a highball glass
  • Add the first three ingredients to a glass and stir
  • Decorate the side of the glass with a blue pie

Colorful mimosas

Ingredients

  • granulated sugar
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder
  • milk
  • vanilla extract
  • 1-1.5 oz. from Baileys, Frangelico, Grand Marnier, Kahlua, whiskey
  • 1 large marshmallow

Create

  • Mix sugar and cocoa powder in a small saucepan
  • Add the milk and stir the mixture over medium to medium heat until the sugar and cocoa are dissolved and the hot chocolate is warmed through

  • Add a dash of alcohol
  • Top with the large marshmallow!
