According to one of his photos, Heijst says that you won't find a photo of him on his IG account: “I definitely prefer to stay behind the camera than in front of it. My photos shouldn’t be about me and my ego, but about the views I capture and the moods I try to convey.”
The closest thing to a selfie is a photo of his hand with the caption: “We fly through central Iran under a blue supermoon and the whole world is lit by the great lunar bulb radiating its magic across the world.” Since I was young, I had I always am in awe of the moon and its special light. On nights like these, when I am one of the very privileged few who can see the planet from 38,000 feet, I rest my hand on the glareshield in front of me and play with the delicate light and shadows of the moon above me .
“I love night flights like this. A private show with the most beautiful light and landscape images I could wish for.”
