Seth Rogen got Conan O’Brien and Andy Richter to smoke weed on live TV

Late night comedy talk shows have hours to fill, but one thing you never see on the show is cannabis use. That is, unless Seth Rogen is a guest on that show – like in the episode of Conan O’Brien on Tuesday night. It wasn’t an old episode either. It was one of Conan’s last shows, so the host accepted a joint from Seth and lit himself on live TV.

“You do that when you know it’s over,” said Conan. “What are you going to do to me?”

Whether Conan actually inhaled the sweet sin is questionable. But at least he puffed and then handed the joint back to Rogen. After another hit, Rogen handed the Doob over to Conan’s buddy Andy Richter, who also took a train.

The moment wasn’t without a script and came about when the host was thinking about what he’d do to himself after his current show ended. (Don’t worry, Conan has already signed up for a weekly variety show that is likely to debut on HBO Max in a deal with Warner Media in 2022.)

Thankfully, as the Conan show is filmed in California, where cannabis is legal for adults over the age of 21, there will be minimal backlash. Even so, we’d get on each other’s nerves and say smoking weed on live national television is worth a round-up.

“You seem like a relaxed, centered guy, like you know who you are,” Conan said to Rogen in advance of the joke. “I will have a break. And to be honest – I’m not kidding, I don’t really know what to do with downtime. “

“I would suggest – this will be hilarious on the brand – try smoking a lot of weed for a long time,” said Rogen. “You seem like someone who doesn’t smoke a lot of weed.”

Conan first came to late night television in 1994 as heir to David Letterman. Now he’s well past 4,000 episodes and will complete nearly 11 years of running on TBS when his final nightly talk show episode airs on June 24th.

The host once told Playboy that his doctor mistakenly assumed he was using cocaine after seeing his frenetic comedic styling. But in all of his television time, Conan has never used drugs in the air. Long-time fans certainly shared Rogen’s cackling joy at the set tooke.

“When will this happen, what will happen?” Conan asked Rogen about the mini-sesh.

“We’ll wait a few minutes and see how you feel,” replied the level-headed stoner comedian. “And then we have a little more if you are still functional.”

“I’m like a narc who took some drugs to prove he wasn’t a narc,” Conan concluded.

In fact, this isn’t the first time Rogen has got a talk show host on fire. When he appeared on “The Colbert Show” in June 2018, the guy also managed to hotbox Colbert.
