No, you probably shouldn’t be trying to eat an edible 1000 mg of marijuana
Marijuana is legal in many places. Rest assured, that is, somewhere in a fraternity house, a stoner brother sits around staring at 1000mg edible cannabis while his college buddies dare him twice to eat that sucker at once. And in the spirit of party culture, it probably will too. Little does he know it will be worse than the worst mistake he has ever made.
Although most states require cannabis dispensaries to sell foods with a limited amount of THC (usually 10 mg per serving), these products are often packaged with 10 servings – the equivalent of 100 mg of THC. For the newbie to the world of edible pots, 100mg will put them on their back in a matter of hours and likely cause enough panic to make them renounce drugs forever.

Seriously, even 50 mg can create dark horrors for a newbie. This is one of the reasons why “responsible use” advocates often suggest that beginners take 5 to 10 mg first to test the water and then increase the dose as needed in a few hours. Because once you’ve ingested 100 mg of edible THC, there’s no going back. And once it starts, you’ll want to return quickly.
Nothing prevents a consumer from purchasing multiple packages of pot foods and devouring them in one setting. There have been reports from top journalists who many believe that documenting their drug use will make them the next Hunter Thompson to eat 500 to 1000 mg of THC and share their experiences with their readers. You can find these articles all over the internet and they are written to gently suggest that a person should not be afraid.
But you should be scared.
While consuming plenty of THC is okay for some, it isn’t the most practical step for most. Forget about everything you’ve heard about pot users who are more active, creative, and functional. Eating 1000 mg of weed will almost certainly lead to drooling anxiety, total inactivity, loss of creative control, and you won’t even be able to pronounce the word Functionality.

The good news is that ridiculous amounts of pot probably won’t kill you. But that doesn’t mean you don’t wish you were dead. A non-life threatening THC overdose can lead to rapid heart rate, difficulty breathing, extreme paranoia, confusion, loss of motor skills, anxiety, and ultimately an excruciating fear that you will swallow your tongue and be sucked into hell. 38-year-old Bart from Louisville, Kentucky learned this the hard way. He told Fresh Toast that he is still afraid of food to this day.

“One night these girls came over and made pot brownies for our band. We each had three before the rehearsal. But they gave me the nibbles, so I ate four more about an hour later, ”he said. “That was a big mistake. I got higher every hour. Just when I thought I couldn’t be stoned anymore, the brownies found a way to get me. I mean, it was fun for a while, but then it got so intense that I couldn’t handle it anymore. I took it to end “
Exhausted, Bart says his knockout sum has been received. “My eyes were tense – that was one of the strangest things about it. I thought I would be lazy in the morning. There was also a hallucinogenic effect. I kept seeing angry versions of myself as the room spun around me. In all honesty, I thought I was going to lose all of my mind. And there was no sleep either. I was so tense with fear that I sat in my closet all night holding on for my dear life. I am still suspicious of taking groceries. On the other hand, I’m proof that weeds can’t kill you. “

Some people get so freaked out after overeating pot edibles that they call 911 or ask someone to do it for them. Nothing good can come of this. Depending on where they live, the Calvary call could cause problems with the law or the arrival of a massive hospital bill weeks later. “My hospital bill was close to $ 2,000,” says Tara of Cincinnati, Ohio, who walked to the emergency room one night after a massive panic attack caused by groceries. “They just gave me one dose of benzodiazepine to calm me down. They sent me home a few hours later. “

All in all, it’s probably best not to consume such high doses of THC – especially near 1000 mg – if you haven’t built the tolerance for it. There’s no shame in starting slow and low. It’s not a competition. You won’t be more spiritually enlightened if you eat more weed than the next. So don’t be a hero. And don’t be fooled by words like “legal” and “safer than alcohol”.
While marijuana is mild compared to other drugs, in some cases it still has enough clout to cause an abundance of misery. However, when used in moderation, pot edibles are quite pleasant. So, to the brother whose pals dare to peel this 1000 mg pot, get away right now and live to get up another day
You don’t need the hassle.
