Lil Baby and James Harden stopped for cannabis possession

Lil Baby, aka Dominique Jones, makes headlines with James Harden, the NBA icon of the Brooklyn Nets, after they were stopped by police in Paris for cannabis possession.

Harden and several other men were reportedly surrounded by police during a search on Avenue Montaigne. During the intense and police-driven search that is now being circled and shared on social media, Harden can be heard saying he doesn’t understand what is happening.

Footage from the arrest shows an officer holding a steamer, but it’s not clear from the information out there who the device belongs to or whether it contained cannabis or tobacco.

Famous rapper Lil Baby has also been arrested and can be seen in the footage sitting in a police car and handcuffed. He was apparently one of three people arrested on charges related to cannabis. The vehicle in which the men were apparently stopped and searched because officers smelled cannabis and allegedly found 20 grams of marijuana during their search.

TMZ tried to contact Paris police, who only replied that the incident was an active investigation. However, sources near Harden revealed that he was not breaking any laws and was allowed to spend his day without being arrested.

The two were in Paris for Paris Fashion Week and likely had no plans to meet the local police during the celebrations. Lil Baby was allegedly arrested for transporting narcotics.

Harden is also currently not playing basketball as he is recovering from a hamstring injury that resulted in him missing a fair number of games and limiting his mobility.

Lil baby is a big smoker

This cannabis possession incident comes as no big surprise as we all know Lil Baby loves smoking. He was portrayed in a live Instagram session, as reported by Hip Hop DX, where he talks about the $ 100,000 he charges for guest posting, his money, and how much he smokes.

On the livestream Sesh he can be seen coughing and bragging about the price he pays for an ounce of cannabis. He is also shown putting his blunt down and talking about how his weed is not a joke.

“This is not a damn corona. This exotic, ”he said in an interview. “This cough is an exotic cough. That’s $ 500 per Zip cough. ”

In another interview he talks about his love for blunts.

“I probably do [started] Smoked backwoods four or five years ago, ”he said. “PeeWee Longway, he put me in Backwoods. He’s made a lot of people into Backwoods, whether they trust him to do it or not. “

Lil baby as a lawyer

Of course, regardless of his public love of weed, it’s no secret that black men are often the target of police attention in both France and the US. Ironically, Lil Baby has not been silent on the subject. After the death of George Floyd he released the track “The Bigger PIcture”, a song full of powerful lyrics about the necessary action in this country.

“You can’t fight fire with fire, I know, but at least we can turn the flames up a bit,” he says in the song. The single became an anthem for those who stood up against police brutality last summer, and Lil Baby didn’t stop there. He also used Twitter on social media to express his dissatisfaction and even went so far as to say he wanted to work with Atlanta Mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms on police reform. However, he eventually resigned and changed his mind.

“The more I see what’s going on with all this shit, the more I think, ‘Let me get out of politics,'” he told GQ. “I don’t want to be a Malcolm X or Martin Luther [King]… I put my nose in it. I’m good at that. “

It remains to be seen whether this legal battle will renew its charges against police repression and how it will hold up against the French authorities.
