Are you ready for stronger marijuana?

Most people get going with consumption – be it alcohol or cannabis – but sometimes you want to really let it rip

About 88% of the population has some sort of routine… morning, bedtime, weekend, getting dressed – it's all part of a mentally developed system. Another routine includes eating habits, which can be positive or negative. And some people fall into a habit of using – both alcohol and cannabis. California Sober turns some of that routine on its head. But is a long weekend a good time to try something new? Are you ready for stronger marijuana?

Most people are comfortable with how they feel and base their consumption on that… but a few times a year people want to really get going. With alcohol there is common knowledge, but with marijuana there are a few things you should know if you want to increase your dose. Most strong strains are used for pain relief or medicinal purposes. For fun, the average dose is 5mg, some go up to 10mg, so what can you expect from 10+mg?

As with alcohol, increasing your marijuana dosage can have positive and some negative effects. High potency enhances the “trip,” more intense feelings, experiences, and sensations. If you're new to a more intense trip, talk to your budtender so you understand the nuances. You might also consider a strain with some CBD to balance out the high. Strains with low to medium dosages can relax you and reduce anxiety. With strong strains, there's a risk of becoming anxious or a little paranoid.

When smoked or vaped, the high peaks 10-25 minutes after consumption and typically lasts 1 to 3 hours, but can last up to 8 hours, so don't plan on driving or doing anything serious.
