You should monitor your wine consumption if you have this condition
Wine is one of the few alcoholic beverages that, when consumed in moderation, has been associated with positive health benefits. Wine consumption has been linked to lower cholesterol levels, positive heart health, and more.
However, there is one negative side effect that can occur when people with a specific medical condition consume it.

There is a link between wine consumption and, according to a study published in the Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology Asthma attacks. The study, which looked at the effects of alcoholic beverages and asthma attacks, surveyed over 400 participants and found that 33 percent of them had asthma attacks at least twice while drinking.
According to the study, wine was the most common trigger, with 30% of participants reporting asthma attacks after consuming it. These seizures are usually preceded by symptoms such as shortness of breath, wheezing, coughing, facial swelling, sweating, and more. They can appear after you have your first drink or a couple of drinks. Most medical experts suggest stopping as soon as these symptoms appear as they can get complicated quickly.
Healthline reports that wine affects people with asthma because of two ingredients in it: histamines and sulfites. Histamines arise when yeast and bacteria interact when the alcohol ferments. They are particularly pronounced in red wine, which is why this type is riskier for people with asthma and allergies. Sulfites are also sensitive to asthmatics, with up to 10 percent of asthmatics responding to them.

While not drinking wine may sound pretty terrible, people struggling with asthma should be careful when consuming it, especially if the wine of their choice is red.
Asthma varies greatly from person to person. In some cases, it’s easy to work with and increases in weight when exposed to certain triggers or when self-exerted. For others, asthma is a serious condition with frequent asthma attacks that can occur even while you sleep. It’s up to each person to test and see what works for them and what doesn’t.
