Wiz Khalifa, Wizard Trees and Rick Steves support legalization in Florida
Florida could be just days away from becoming the 25th legalization state — and Amendment 3 advocates are arriving.
Celebrities like rap god Wiz Khalifa, travel king Rick Steves and Zaza brands like Wizard Trees are looking forward to the good things that come with more freedom in the Sunshine State.
A majority of Floridians want to end the tens of thousands of annual marijuana arrests, raise hundreds of millions in taxes with the measure and keep the good weed flowing. However, Amendment 3 requires an absolute supermajority of 60% of the vote, and polls show it will be very close.
This is where recommendations can save the situation – by luring distracted consumers away from the couch and into voting. Let's see who says what.

“We want to make it safe and legal and stop arresting people because of the facility. Come to me and say yes to 3,” Khalifa said. “Early voting starts now, so don’t miss out.”
Rick Steves supports Amendment 3
Few people have done more to flip undecided, moderate votes for legalization than travel legend Rick Steves.
On October 22, Steves published an op-ed in the Miami Herald supporting Amendment 3, saying:
“I am a travel writer. And basically, if my government says I can't go somewhere, they should have a damn good reason for it. To me, “high” is a place… and sometimes I want to go there. And when it comes to my civil freedom to enjoy marijuana as a responsible adult, there is no good reason for our government to stop me from doing so.”

Such a legend. Steves favors “common sense” regulation over prohibition and points to the 200,000 annual pot arrests in the United States.
“With each election cycle, the laws get smarter and the wisdom of legalization becomes clearer.”

Opponents of Amendment 3
So who is against cannabis freedom in Florida? Florida Governor Ron DeSantis, some of the state's sheriffs confiscating cannabis cash and cars, and of course Project SAM – the nationwide opponents of weed freedom. If that’s your thing – then do it.
The choice is yours, Florida. Cast your ballot by mail, walk-in, vote early or on November 5th. We are a government of the people, by the people and for the people – exercise your right to self-government or someone else will.
