Winter hacks to get fit while high
The weight of winter is lurking around the corner, from holiday celebrations to short winter days. A slight strain on the pants indicates the change in the body. Studies show that most adults don’t gain as much weight during the holidays as you might think. According to a research paper published in the Journal of Obesity, the average weight gain during this period ranges from 0.8 to just under 2 pounds.
To combat weight loss, here are winter hacks to help you stay fit while you’re high. Two birds with one stone, help your body and relax the mind.

If you don’t already do yoga, this winter is the time to do it. Not after New Year’s for a short, guilt-fueled break, but from now until spring. Maybe you will love it and keep it all year round. Regardless, the breathing techniques combined with minimal amounts of cannabis seem to reinforce each other and work wonders in suppressing the seasonal blues. The strengthening and flexibility factors will also make you feel and look good.
Push-ups, squats and the after session
A good way to wake up in the morning is to have a piece of fruit and a glass of water and do a little exercise. There’s no need to go crazy, but doing wall push-ups is an excellent way to strengthen your arms, shoulders, and core and is less strenuous than the floor version. Do a few reps and then a few squats. Watch a video on YouTube about how to squat correctly so you don’t hurt yourself, and start with just a few at a time, but at least until you feel a slight burn. With the subsequent session over a cup of coffee, your winter days are sure to get off to a good start.
Actively watch television and films

If it is winter and you are relaxing on the couch, even if someone is with you, it is likely that it is your family or a very close friend. Instead of binging on Netflix and chilling, watch the whole thing and kill it by exercising regularly in your seat. Make sure you don’t slouch and do some leg exercises while consuming your favorite winter flavor. Place a pillow under your back and ride a bike. Hit the air like you’re Evander Holyfield, or just hold your hands above your head until you really feel it, lower them for a break, and repeat with a bong hit in between.
Refine your favorite healthy foods

Just because it’s cookie season doesn’t mean you have to bake sweet treats to enjoy a good edible high. Add your favorite carrier oil to enhance almost any dish. Pay attention to the dosage and be careful not to overdo it. However, add about half a gram to a gram of flowers per serving. Coconut oil is very healthy for cooking and recipes for infusing it and using it are plentiful online. Or simply pour in olive oil, let it cool completely, refrigerate, and then create your own balsamic vinaigrette, perfect for a winter beetroot salad or other healthy dish.
Spiced Apple Cider Canna Hot Shot

For a healthy yet buttery treat, use a tablespoon of cannabis-infused ghee butter and add it to your hot mug of spiced apple cider. The terpenes of the cannabis harmonize with the spices and the healthy fats of the clarified and medicinal butter provide a little energy boost. The Gourmet Ghee company offers a range of pure and flavored authentic ghee that is perfect for this drink. (A “hot shot” infused ghee is also a perfect cream and sugar substitute in coffee or tea!)

Choose a beautiful, sativa-dominant strain like Super Lemon Haze or Jack Herer and delve deep into your thoughts and the written word.

As with the yoga mat, it’s an excellent idea to have hand and ankle weights, especially ones that attach with strong Velcro. Even 2-pound weights add a little resistance when walking around the house. And every now and then it is good to stand up, stretch vigorously, strike the joint with one weighted hand, then pull the other inward and place the hand with the joint straight out to the side again. Repeat this at least ten times per session and watch that pesky arm flab begin to disappear while simultaneously heightening your senses with weed.
