Where does the largest marijuana grow in America? (5 Monster Grow Operations)

The cannabis industry is still evolving. This trend isn’t going to end anytime soon, as more and more investors pour capital into legal states to set up giant cannabis operations. Legal cannabis operations today are more robust than ever. Companies either consolidate with each other or expand into neighboring states or countries. Several Canadian companies have scaled up to invest in the U.S. cannabis industry as lawmakers move toward federal legislation.

In preparation for more legalized states to join the list, or better yet, the entire country, companies have set up large indoor grows to meet the immediate needs of cannabis users in their states. Some companies are already exporting their products for processing into medicinal cannabis medicines or infused edibles.

As it stands today, nearly 30 million square feet of U.S. land is used for cannabis production. Most of these large growers grow their cannabis plants in traditional greenhouses, while the rest have scattered indoor facilities and outdoor grows. However, the largest operations tend to be in a fully controlled environment and the stock grows throughout the year.

#1 – Ultra Health

Based in Tularosa, New Mexico, Ultra Health is the premier cannabis grower in the United States. It sits on 8,000,000 square feet of land on Old Tularosa Farm Road, 200 acres (about 10 Cherry Creek malls).

The Ultra Health brand is a cannabis production and retail company that has been serving the needs of most cannabis consumers in New Mexico since 2018.

The plant can grow outdoors, indoors and in a greenhouse. It uses state-of-the-art cannabis cultivation methods. Almost a hundred people work at this facility. The company’s cultivation center was previously located in Bernalillo, New Mexico. This grow area was approximately 11 acres with a 90,000 square foot greenhouse.

This huge facility area supplies more than 29 branded pharmacies. They offer a wide range of products including topicals, flowers, edibles, creams, oils, patches, gummies, suppositories and concentrates to medical and recreational cannabis users in New Mexico.

The company recently announced that it could expand its facility by approximately 200,000 square feet to increase production. Note that Ultra Health is the largest cannabis company in the world.

#2 – Mammoth Farms

The Mammoth cannabis farm, located on 3,400,000 million square feet of land in Colorado, is currently the state’s largest cannabis grower. It operates a combination of warehouse, greenhouse, and outdoor growing styles. If you have trouble imagining the size of this facility, imagine you have 20 interconnected Walmart stores.

The farm itself is located in rural San Luis Valley, Colorado. The products are grown in the mountains using environmentally friendly farming methods. The products of this large tract of land are sold inside and outside of Colorado. However, the company sells some of its products in its pharmacies, which are located in strategic points of the state.

Mammoth Farms is not only the second largest in the United States, but also holds that record in the entire global cannabis industry. The country has significantly boosted traffic to legal cannabis production in Colorado and across the country. The facility began production in 2014, although the products were primarily intended for registered cannabis patients.

In addition to its large-scale cultivation operations, the brand operates in the retail, testing, breeding, and research niches of the cannabis industry.

#3 – Palo Verde Center

The Palo Verde Center is the size of about 17 Costcos in the same location. Approved five years ago, it has grown to become the third largest cannabis cultivation facility in the United States and the largest in California. It is located in the less popular area of Riverside County. It is primarily an indoor (warehouse) operation.

Every facility in this center is used for optimal energy and production optimization. The center is praised for breathing life into an otherwise dry Blythe community. There are other clusters of cannabis farms near the Palo Verde Center, and they produce tons of cannabis plants that are sold in California dispensaries and operators in several states.

#4 – Copperstate Farms

This cannabis facility is located on over 1,600,000 square feet of land in Snowflake, Arizona. The facility is referred to by cannabis enthusiasts as a mecca of cannabis cultivation.

Copperstate Farms was formerly a tomato nursery. Today it houses Arizona’s largest cannabis farm and caters to both recreational and medicinal cannabis users. It supplies adult medicines and cannabis to Sol Flower Dispensaries in the greater Phoenix area. The company practices sustainable and eco-friendly growing styles, using only natural and sun-grown approaches.

The facility features a kitchen to produce cannabis-infused edibles. It also has its own laboratory for distillate extraction of cannabinoids.

Ps – the whole area is bigger than 300 McDonald’s in one.

#5 – Los Suenos Farms

This was America’s most prominent cannabis cultivation in 2019. Not surprisingly, it’s also located in Colorado, the center of cannabis cultivation in the United States. This acreage is located on approximately 1,200,000 million square feet of farmland.

The cannabis plants produced here come from greenhouse and outdoor operations. The company has always focused more on the production of organically grown cannabis plants.

Recently, the Los Suenos brand was acquired by state-owned cannabis company Curaleaf. The farm’s produce is supplied to retailers such as Coda Signature, Blue Kudu and 1906. These cannabis products are fresh-frozen, pesticide-free whole buds and pre-rolls.

Note that Los Suenos Farms LLC is made up of four licensed Colorado growers. They are Emerald Fields Grow LLC, Los Suenos LLC, Farmboy LLC and Baseball 18 LLC.

As the industry continues to expand and more states plan to pass their recreational or medicinal cannabis laws before the end of the year, demand is expected to increase. Expect larger cannabis grow facilities to knock out one or more of the above items from their current spot on the list.
