Where are the cannabis jobs in 2022? Yes, even Utah has one!

Will 2022 be a parade year for the cannabis industry at the federal level? Probably not, but that won’t stop the momentum of states from adding medical and recreational cannabis programs to their tax base. Where are the cannabis jobs in 2022? Which job trends and positions are most in demand?

If we look at Cannabis.net’s job board, we see that the normally suspects like California and Washington currently have the highest number of marijuana vacancies, with 73 and 42 cannabis jobs currently open, respectively. An interesting tidbit is to scroll down and check out the newly legalized states or states that have recently introduced either a medical program or a recreational program. Ohio lists 6 open positions while New York has 8 positions on the marijuana job board. Even Utah, next to Idaho the most conservative state when it comes to weed, has a job open.

Utah State University’s Crop Physiology Laboratory has a postdoctoral research fellow with a background in the physiology and production of cannabis in controlled environments. https://caas.usu.edu/labs/cpl/.

The positions in the postdoctoral fellow position are given the opportunity for scientific preliminary and further training, often under the guidance of a supervising faculty mentor. Postdoc positions are limited by their nature and serve the further development of the postdoc as an independent researcher and the expansion of their professional skills in science. Positions are usually dependent on the availability of funds.

The position is available immediately.

If you filter by title or “Industry” you will find that the sales job is the main role as many companies are looking for ways to get their brand in new locations and pharmacies. Sales positions in cannabis can be fruitful if you find the right company because the “product sells itself,” as they say when the company has good quality products.

Budtender, aka cannabis workers, and delivery drivers are making up some of the California entries, with brand new businesses in Pennsylvania, Illinois, and Florida looking for the same. Some locations require general managers and sales floor managers as new pharmacies typically need to be open 5 to 6 days a week so that one person cannot fill this role. These deals can actually hire two managers, a front and back setup or flip-flops on weekdays and weekends.

For example:

EMBR is looking for a Retail Floor Manager to join our team in La Mesa, CA! It is a full-time position that is also planned for weekends and public holidays. The working hours for this position are 5-8 hour shifts between 6:30 a.m. and 9:30 p.m. A Budtender Shift Supervisor is expected to work three to five (3-5) shifts per week and be available on weekends, weekdays, evenings, and holidays.
We are looking for talented people with a professional demeanor who love this industry. Applicants must have exceptional customer service skills and experience in training in a pharmacy. To be considered for employment, please read the entire post and carefully follow the instructions below.
If you already have work experience in the cannabis industry in a pharmacy, please ensure that you include a detailed professional history on your résumé. Please attach a link to all social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter).
