What is “clean weed” and why is everyone talking about it?
Clean products are nothing new. But “clean weed” is a different matter altogether, a new phenomenon that’s likely to become more common, at least according to some experts.
The Los Angeles Times reports that clean weed has made its rounds in San Francisco, becoming one of the most sought-after items in dozens of dispensaries. The product bears his name like many other “clean” products known for their environmentally friendly processes and the transparency of their ingredients.

“Clean weed” depends on the producer, but it indicates that the cannabis in question is organically grown, with the least amount of pesticides. These products shouldn’t need the help of chemicals to grow.
This label is more important when it comes to vape products. Traditionally, vapors are extracted by adding the THC to a chemical material such as butane, ethanol, or CO2. It’s not easy to complete this process without these elements, but it is possible, in a more complicated but cleaner method that subjects the cannabis to “a combination of mechanical agitation and temperature changes.”

Discussing the benefits of “clean weed” over “traditional weed,” the LA Times spoke to Dr. Peter Grinspoon, a family doctor and cannabis specialist at Massachusetts General Hospital, who compared clean cannabis to organic food using fruit as an example.
“The regular piece of fruit has a little bit of pesticide in it, but when it gets through, the government says, ‘This isn’t going to harm you,'” said Dr. grinspoon “I haven’t seen any studies that show you get less cancer from eating organic vegetables, but everyone intuitively thinks it’s healthier. And everyone will pay more [them]and I think it’s kind of the same situation.

Consumers seem more concerned than ever about their health and the things they put into their bodies. The cannabis industry in particular has received a lot of criticism, particularly in the case of vapes, which has been linked to a variety of health issues, most notably EVALI, a disease that affects the lungs of people due to chemicals present in some vape cartridges.
It makes sense, therefore, that the cannabis industry is attempting to stay ahead of the competition by employing every means at its disposal, including the more laborious process of labeling and producing “clean weed.” This trend is not only a product that is good for customers, but also intelligent marketing.
