What you are likely to think when you hear “THC” is actually delta-9-THC, a common cannabinoid found in cannabis. My first moonwalk
Each MOONWLKR gummy bear contains 25 milligrams of Delta-8 THC. Standard Delta-9 edibles in Washington state, home of Leafly’s headquarters, are 10 milligrams. I may have started a little early and took a whopping 25 milligrams of Blue Dream gummy bears without looking at the bottle – so my first moonwalking experience was sort of a mission to Mars. Like a Delta 9 edible, the body high came up heavily. An insatiable need for snacks ensued: As CBD vlogger McKenzie Rae put it, “I keep scrolling UberEats like it’s social media.” If you’re normally sensitive to THC edibles, you should use half or even one Quarter begin. The gummy bear was more intense than I expected, but I was still reasonably clear: I tend to be scared when I consume edibles, and while the beginning got a bit bumpy, my rational brain was still much more preoccupied with Delta-8.
I wouldn’t necessarily call it a muted version of regular THC. Parts of the delta 8 high were just as strong. But it also felt easier in some ways. The euphoria was definitely there, but the effect was shorter. Before choosing to work or study with Delta-9 or Delta-8, I would definitely choose the latter – although I’m not exactly ready to do advanced trigonometry under the influence of either. However, I’m not usually someone who uses THC as a study aid, so your space mileage may vary.
The rest of the gums were just as strong, and the Mango Kush was especially effective at getting me to sleep. They were extremely tasty too, and hard to stop eating and get sucked into a snack-attack pathway.
If you’re familiar with vape cartridges, this may be a better way to tip your feet into the Delta-8 world – they came in faster so it was easier to develop a sense of tolerance. They’re smooth and frankly as tasty as the gummies without feeling like they’re masking anything. The Strawberry Gelato Vape, also known as the Calypso, was a special treat. If you prefer an earthy taste, the Orange Chemdawg comes in the Telesto vape, but with a side of light citrus. Telesto also delivered the clearest high in our experience: after trying all of the cartridges, I settled on these before taking on a new cooking challenge. I did it.
Titan with Super Lemon Haze was still a little energizing, but a little foggy. Himalia packed with a very flavorful Grape Runtz and Calypso added a little more relaxation and made for a very classic, fun time watching cartoons. Even though they were a little more nebulous, they didn’t knock me out.
As with the edibles, the delta-8 high was similar to the delta-9, but shifted a little. It was a little easier to get things done, but the head high was still very much there, even if it was a little less foggy. Of course, both Delta-9 and Delta-8 affect everyone differently, so you might want to try a little shuttle test launch before aiming for the stars.
