Vape Pens Reviews – Use Vape Pens like a joint, with no THC. to waste
Have you ever heard of too much weed? You may be consuming an abundance of cannabis concentrates, dabs, throughout the day. According to countless people who disapprove of concentrated cannabis, a joint or vape pen is often a perfect fit. So how can a vape pen be developed based on laboratory testing to ensure it puffs like a classic, expertly rolled joint without wasting more than half of its THC?
What wastes less THC and CBD, joints, dabs or vape pens?
Hadener et al. chemically analyzed dabs and joints and found that joints waste three times more THC than dabs. So a vape pen should be optimal, although this is not always the case. With enough lab testing, can a vape pen puff like a joint and waste as little THC as a dab?
Additionally, the oil droplets that settle in your lungs after pumping on a vape pen likely contain different compounds than the oil the manufacturer loaded into the cartridge.
Delic Labs, formerly CBDV, is the leader in vape pen testing in Canada, licensed from Health Canada to test cannabis and psilocybin. Your President and CSO, Dr. Markus Roggen, holds a PhD in organic chemistry from the ETH Zurich.
We decided to ask #AskAnExpert why we use smoke or vape tests at all.

We know what’s in a vape or smoking product, but not what’s in the droplets of oil that build up in your lungs after puffing on a vape or joint.
Chemistry is an interesting field because it deals with how molecules change. Vape pens cause the oil to heat up, although it doesn’t always boil or burn. Instead, the oil will change … Heat is one of the main drivers of molecular change – chemistry.
Hence, we were interested in how the process of vaping and smoking affects your consumption. Because if your vape oil is 90 percent THC and you have a gram of oil, that means you have 900 mg of THC. But you are not inhaling 900 mg in one go. How much THC do you inhale per puff (per puff) on a joint?

Good question, the ability to calculate doses with a vape pen is traditionally a trial and error save for maybe one or two precisely dosed vape pens.
We wanted to know [that] This allows the manufacturer of the cannabis vapor product and the consumer to have a rough idea of how much THC one would inhale. This is a great way to refine your vape hardware.
Let’s say you only need to inhale 1 mg of THC per puff to have any effect. So if the vape oil maker contains 5 mg of THC, that’s way too much. So how do you adjust the wording and tune the hardware?

So you want to help manufacturers make better vaping products and give consumers a better vaping experience.
And partly with THC, but also with other cannabinoids and terpenes.

Limitations on Vape Pen Testing
Sajni Shah (BS) runs the laboratory himself at Delic Labs. Shah started as a co-op student with the former CBDV in May 2019. Today she is the laboratory manager and helps with many operations and experiments.

How consistent are different brands of vape pens and does this affect the test?
It varies a lot. Hence, figuring out exactly how much you can expect to get out of the vape itself is quite difficult.
We checked too; Many packaging would say that the net weight of these cartridges was a gram or half a gram of oil. But we have found time and time again that the actual weight does not match that even though we have completely smoked the vape [advertised] Net weight.
Sajni Schaha
Sajni noted that the inconsistency could be due to residual oil. In each case, the discrepancies were so great that it seems unlikely that the total weight would be taken into account. However, you are not sure if the vape cartridges are underfilled or if there is oil left in the cartridge that cannot be vaporized.
Regardless, on the consumer’s endpoint, they are not getting the full amount they would expect.

Why should we bring joints and vapes together?
So these tests have the potential to improve a vape pen’s efficiency as well as the experience.
Vape and smoke tests allow cannabis producers to create better crafted oils and vape cartridges so your vape can finally taste like a joint.
Vape pens will never puff like a joint if no one asks why their respective vapor and smoke emissions are different and what connections are missing in the vape cartridge. We can now start filling that void, understanding what’s missing, and developing a better vape oil to get the full flavor.

Thank you, Dr. Rye and sajni. end of Call.
These tests appear to be practical for the consumer, but they come with a price and some limitations. We explain the technical details behind the top of vapor and smoke analysis in the following article.
