Top reasons cannabis users distrust the government
Cannabis users are known to be suspicious of the government. Now that vaccine mandates peddle nationally, many people are weighing the option of getting fired for non-compliance.
Of course, the politicization of the virus has lumped those who refuse to comply with the vaccine mandate as “anti-Vaxxers” when in reality there are many people who simply do not trust the government or big pharma for several legitimate reasons.
Today we’re going to investigate some of the most notorious incidents where the government abused its power and manipulated the public in one way or another, as well as moments when Big Pharma abused our trust.
You may not remember because of all the shit lately – but before the pandemic, there were protests around the world, from the US to China.
When the pandemic struck – it was like the fuse of a big social bomb was removed and now that people are locked down – I feel like we’re just throwing napalm on everything. Given dichotomous politics that divide citizens on issues like health, freedom of choice, and the like, it’s important to take a step back and understand why some people just don’t trust the government and its corporate sponsors.
A quick overview of distrust
Since 1958, the National Election Study has polled Americans about their confidence in the government. When they started asking this question, 73% of Americans believed that the government “does the right thing most of the time.”
However, the Vietnam War quickly began to undermine that confidence, and by the 1970s with the Water Gate scandal, Americans were 54% confident that the government was on the up.
In 1980, only 26% of Americans trusted the government. Then, during the Raegan era, under the guise of the drug war, the government “cracked down on crime” while waging a Cold War with Russia that came to an end in its final decade.
In the mid-1990s, overall confidence in government was a low 20%.
After that, September 11th created an artificial peak of confidence in the government, but just a decade later, public confidence hit an all-time low of 10%.
During the current administration, Pew says 24% of Americans trust the government.
However, there is also a survey we can look at which is the “Congressional Disapproval Rating” – another data point.
Even with these polls, which correlate with the others, there is a consistent trend – a general distrust of the government.
Do you remember the time the government lied about marijuana?
Now let’s look at more cannabis-specific crimes caused by Uncle Sam.
There are so many examples to choose from, but I’ll limit this section to the main offenses.
-
Harry J. Anslinger is cheating on America – Reefer Madness is a time when open lies were published in newspapers and actively promoted by the government. While the level of cooling madness has been scaled down in modern times, we still see this type of deception being encouraged on mainstream media sites and academic journals. It is only recently that research has reversed the misunderstandings that have arisen as a result.
-
1970 CSA and Nixon – The Controlled Substance Act and Nixon’s declaration of war put the FDA in control of drug planning. They were supposed to be the people “protecting the American public”, but when the drug war was the focus, the politicization of drugs and the private interests of drug manufacturers made them “break the rules” and leave cannabis a drug, though they knew it is not the same as heroin! Not to mention that Pharma provides 75% of the FDA’s budget – you don’t have to guess anything!
-
The gateway theory and D.ARE – The Gateway Theory is just one of the many government lies upheld by organizations like DARE. Here are five more government lies as reported by NORML.
-
Cannabis users poisoned by the government – Do you remember paraquat? At that point, the State Department encouraged the Mexican government to spray paraquat on plants that eventually made their way north and were consumed by Americans. I think it’s okay for a few stoners to die to save everyone from the devil’s salad!
-
The prison population – Look no further than the swollen prison population, the vast majority of them on related drug charges. The idea is that arresting people who use drugs increases the safety of everyone else – but this strategy has proven to be the opposite since the start of the war on drugs, but this has not prevented the government from continuing the practice .
-
Biden’s Admin – They said they would decriminalize cannabis, that it wouldn’t be a problem – but since the Biden administration took power, Kamala Harris changed her position on cannabis, the White House fired staff for admitting cannabis use, and no efforts to decriminalize have been taken by the administration.
However, these are only weed violations. If we look at some pharmaceutical phuckups you will see even more reasons why you shouldn’t trust the government or the agencies that are supposed to be protecting us from these companies.
Pharma phuckups!
I’ll put it in the words of Drug Watch;
Big Pharma is also the federal government’s biggest scammer under the false information law, according to consumer protection group Public Citizen.
The industry has a history of fraud, bribery, lawsuits and scandals. Despite criminal charges and fines, big pharma companies continue to do business. – Source
This is just the tip of the iceberg. There is so much more shit abundant and the FDA is practically funded by these guys.
The sticky end result
I do not reserve an opinion on vaccination efforts. I have a problem with the government trying to force people to use drugs against their will – even when a pandemic occurs.
These organizations have a long history of abuse and misconduct. The FDA has direct links with the pharmaceutical industry, and the pharmaceutical industry spends more on lobbying than any other industry in the world.
Unless you are the least bit skeptical of their actions, then you are purposely ignorant. As cannabis users have known for decades, “The Man” cannot be trusted.
So if someone says that they tend not to be vaccinated – maybe they have other reasons than being “opponents of vaccinations”.
The pandemic may be raging, but that hasn’t suddenly turned profit-addicted heartless organizations into caring entities …
