Top Rated Pharmacies in Toronto – 2022 Edition

Thousands of stores have been closed in Toronto during the pandemic, but these empty storefronts of former bars, cafes and clothing stores have seemingly turned into one cannabis dispensary after another overnight.

The competition is tough.

Some of the city’s most popular hangouts are now legal marijuana stores. Certain neighborhoods like Kensington Market, which housed a few discreet gray market shops prior to legalization in 2018, now have four cannabis stores in just one block.

Queen West, St. Lawrence Market, and Leslieville aren’t much better, and there’s no shortage of pharmacies even outside of downtown. So far in 2022, there are more than 300 legal cannabis retail outlets in Toronto, and the number is expected to keep growing.

At this point the market feels saturated and it is overwhelming to find a cannabis store in TO – one that you really like and trust. Luckily, Leafly has a network of passionate cannabis users who have tried dozens of dispensaries and ranked their top picks.

Keep scrolling for five of the top rated cannabis dispensaries in Toronto.

1900 Eglinton Ave. E—Toronto, ON

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 5 stars (15 ratings)

While FIKA Local’s Eglinton Ave. store is technically in Scarborough, as it’s east of Vic Park, the Golden Mile location still makes it onto our list of the best cannabis dispensaries in Toronto because it literally has few Steps away from what passes for real Toronto.

Like other FIKA local cannabis retail stores, this one has been outfitted with an elegant interior that immediately sets the tone for a sophisticated shopping experience.

There’s a Vape Bar highlighting all the vape options, a Tuck Shop, the cooler full of infused beverages, and the flower is displayed in enlarged domes to inspect the bud. The brand also offers occasional special offers, like the recent 20% store-wide promotion during their week-long Booming Deals.

361 Yonge St. – Toronto, ON

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 5 stars (6 ratings)

Located in Yonge between Gould and Gerrard, Body and Spirit Cannabis is practically on the Ryerson University campus, so it seems only fair that they offer a decent student discount.

Any student of legal age with valid ID is entitled to 15% off a range of products including edibles, vapes, oils, pre-rolls, beverages, capsules and 1g, 3.5g and 7g flower as well as 10% off 14g and 28 g flowers. Still, you don’t need to pursue higher education to visit this highly rated Toronto cannabis shop.

“Body and Spirit is a great legal dispensary,” writes one patron. “I am greeted warmly every time I arrive and greeted with immense knowledge on every visit. Their website is easy to navigate and their social media is great!”

244 Queen St. W – Toronto, ON

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 4.8 stars (19 ratings)

Bonnefire staked his claim to Queen West near the corner of John St. It is an ideal location for people who find them in the area for shopping or dining, or for local residents who call one of the nearby high-rise buildings home.

While Bonnefire sits in the midst of urban sprawl, the interior takes a more nature-centric approach, with raw wood displays and decor accents. One Leafly user describes the store as having cottage country vibes, and they’re not wrong.

Bonnefire also scores highly with its excellent staff who are welcoming, friendly and also have solid recommendations for anyone needing advice or guidance.

333 Yonge St. – Toronto, ON

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 3.9 stars (18 ratings)

Tokyo Smoke’s location on the corner of Yonge and Dundas, right above the Dundas subway station, makes it a solid choice for commuters, shoppers at neighboring Eaton’s Center, or area residents. (Fun fact: This is the address where HMV first opened its Toronto flagship in the early ’90s.)

Expect the same consistency and quality from this Tokyo Smoke Shop as its sister stores, along with the same upscale shopping experience and decor. “Solid selection and [they use] Plain text notes and classifications to let you know if you’re headed for the couch, a creative afternoon, or clear pain relief,” explains one customer.

“Looking forward to another visit.” Like other pharmacies, this location offers click-and-collect shopping as well as a Tuesday seniors’ daily special where people over 55 get 15% off their order.

202 Queen St. W – Toronto, ON

⭐ ⭐ ⭐ 3.4 stars (49 ratings)

The Hunny Pot is also on Queen West and is practically adjacent to Bonnefire. Nevertheless, the atmosphere could not be more different. The Hunny Pot has opted for a more modern design aesthetic, with one customer comparing it to an Apple Store.

“Entering the Hunny Pot felt like I was in an Apple Store looking for an iPhone. The staff [are] so professional, everything is so neat and convenient. This company really challenges the stigma surrounding the cannabis industry,” they wrote.

The budtenders at this dispensary receive plenty of praise, as does the product quality itself. Today, The Hunny Pot has 17 stores across Southern Ontario, but this Queen St. location will always be special, having been the city’s first legal store.
