Tips for managing your high

People are drinking less and consuming more marijuana. As with alcohol, sometimes you overindulge or just aren’t used to a Long Island Ice Tea and things hit harder than you expect. The same can be done with marijuana, experience or not, sometimes you can go a little further than you think, so here are a few tips on how to manage your high.

lemonade

Lemonade is easiest when you’re near a store or at a party. People who use cannabis regularly know that having a drink nearby is a good idea for a number of reasons. Lemonade is particularly useful as citrus fruits can be effective at helping to balance the effects of THC due to the presence of the limonene terpenes, which promote alertness when consumed.

The best way to get the terpenes necessary to offset the effects of THC is by consuming lemon slices or lemon peels. Lemon slices also help with breathing. This might not be the most subtle way to manage your high, but no one will blame you for a cold drink. Lemonade also offers people an opportunity to satiate the cotton flies that accompany marijuana use.

While unlikely, soda may be the best tool to help manage a seemingly uncontrollable high.

ibuprofen

Another thing that might seem unusual is something most people probably have stashed in their medicine cabinet. While effective in treating headaches and body aches, ibuprofen has also been shown to be effective in helping people manage their high from excessive THC consumption.

A 2013 study published in the journal Cell found a safe dosage of ibuprofen was instrumental in helping some patients offset the effects of THC. Having some ibuprofen on hand could be crucial in helping people overcome over-serving.

Ibuprofen can be taken inconspicuously in public or privately. Either way, this holiday season, remembering the impact they can have in smoothing out an uncomfortable high could be life-saving.

CBD

Whether it’s in the form of a vape pen or a gummy bear, CBD could be the best source to help people deal with a high they can’t shake. Scientific research shows that the cannabinoid has properties that cancel out the effects from THC. Perhaps a CBD pen, CBD oil, or gummies could help overcome an overwhelming high.

With that in mind, people considering using CBD vape pens to beat their high should pay a little more attention to their attitude, as vaping is not universally accepted and may raise questions or suspicions.

Everyone has a little too much sometimes, at worst you can fall asleep and tell some great stories later. Be prepared when you go to a meeting where you need to stay focused and pay attention so you can hopefully relax and have fun.
