These Apple products could be dangerous to your health
Apple products make up a significant part of the tech market. Used by millions of people around the world, the company is the maker of the most popular smartphone in the world. Recently, Apple issued some health warnings that could put adults and children at risk.
Apple’s statement, released on June 25, shows that magnets used in several of their products could interfere with medical implants such as defibrillators and pacemakers. In the report, the company lists several of its products that should be kept at least 6 inches away from medical implants.

“If you suspect that your Apple product is interfering with your medical device, stop using your Apple product and contact your doctor and medical device manufacturer,” the company suggests.
The magnets are found in a variety of products and are widely used to secure charging ports and device lids. Air Pods, Apple Watches, iPads and other accessories are included in this list.
The American Heart Association recently published a study examining Apple devices that interfere with pacemakers and defibrillators. Eleven out of 14 devices experienced interference after an Apple device was placed nearby while it was stationary or planted out of the box.
“We always knew that magnets could interfere with cardiac implantable electronic devices, but we were surprised at the strength of the magnets used in iPhone 12 magnet technology,” said Dr. Michael Wu, the study’s lead researcher. The strength of these magnets is a risk as many people carry their cell phones in the front pocket of their shirt.

Another Apple accessory that was classified as risky for kids this time around is AirTags. This iPhone accessory, used to keep track of lost things, has been classified as dangerous by the Australian Competition and Consumers Commission (ACCC) because the device’s lithium battery is easy to access. Apple is currently in discussion with ACCC to resolve this issue.
