There is a shortage of these items in grocery stores
As the pandemic set in, food shortages emerged as people’s shopping habits changed and adapted to the new world. Even though it’s much better and more balanced now, there are still some items that are hard to find depending on your location.
Taste of Home asked Facebook users about the missing items from their local grocery stores, and people were quick to share their experiences. Here are some of the most common items missing from grocery shelves:

Bottled water is an item that is missing from the shelves of many grocery stores. This has been a recurring problem since the pandemic began, with many people stocking up on water in the event of an apocalyptic emergency.

Pasta is a staple in the pantry, and as more people cook at home, there is a shortage right now, just as it was in the late year (bucatini in particular). According to Eat This, Not That, there could be another shortage of pasta soon, this time due to extreme weather conditions that have impacted production of durum wheat, the flour used to make pasta.

Toilet paper is a hot commodity in a pandemic. There was a serious shortage of this product last year as stores limited the amount of toilet paper people could buy. Costco recently reintroduced the cap on TP and other cleaning products.

Probably for the same reason, paper towels are also hard to find.

With the changing needs of buyers, companies have had to adjust the quantities of products they make. According to Kraft, lunchables are in high demand right now. “Compared to 2019, almost 2 million more households bought Kraft Heinz brands in the second quarter of 2021,” the company announced. “We are also seeing unprecedented high demand for many of our brands, including lunchables.”
