The Grape Stank strain wins the Oregon Leaf Bowl on two counts

The end of May heralds the peak season for cannabis cultivation in North America.

Millions upon millions of starters are rooting in the earth for their full sun run in 2023. The cloning trays at the Mainstage Dispensary in Sacramento, California look plucked.

Strains like Grape Stank and Trop Cherry are on the rise in Oregon’s weed competitions. Blue Face brought gas back to California on May 13 at the Emerald Cup.

And fresh in the seed banks this week: new crosses of Seed Junky, Compound and Clearwater.

This is simmering in the incandescent magma core of the US’s $60 billion cannabis industry. Here’s Leafly Strain News Weekly #5.

Grape Stank wins the Oregon Leaf Bowl twice

Oregon’s biggest competition is the leaf shell ended on May 26th with the top producers Left Coast Standard And TrueCare Farms They competed for first and second place in five sun-grown flower categories.

The indoor competition proved tough; Ten brands won or placed in five categories. Watch out for the trop cherry from Green leaf– the best exotic fruit. A Grape Stank variety won the Citrus and Juice category and placed second in the Fuel/Og/Chemical category.

Desserts are the rule – a biscotti pie from High noon cultivation won the Open category while a Z-type named Moonbow 112 out archive came second.

In the mixed light/greenhouse is the mark Real Eve won four out of six categories with the flavors: Hash Burger, Super Boof, Sherb Cake and Chem-Lato. Huzzah.

The smoke has cleared over the epic May 13th Emerald Cup awards 2023 – the world’s largest cannabis competition.
