The best ways to make the first part of the week positive
The first part of the week is filled with work, tasks and preparing for 5 days of work. As the work week begins, some people experience sadness, anxiety or lack of motivation, which can become routine and is not healthy. While Baby Boomers and Generation X grew up in a world with fewer life options and work was simply something you had to do, younger Millennials and Generation Z were taught a slightly different view. Gap years, working abroad, flexible hours and working from home gave them the opportunity to create a work environment that met their needs. But with the loss of these options, stress and anxiety have increased. About 39% of Generation Z experience anxiety on a regular basis. And about half of Generation Z (52%) and Millennials (49%) feel burned out by their job. So what are the best ways to make the first part of the week positive?

Eat
Weekends are for fun, indulgence, and treats. Decide each week whether Monday or Tuesday will be fun or your favorite meal. It can be something simple, like sloppy joes, a special salad, or a great steak, but something to look forward to and enjoy. Make it something simple, too, but turn Tuesday into something special. Eating also releases mood-boosting serotonin and dopamine, which can brighten the first part of the week. Foods that are particularly rich in these two include fish, grains, lean meats, olive oil, and fruits and vegetables.

Swap beer for marijuana
All studies show that marijuana is healthier for the body than beer. Less calories, less boating, no hangover. Although California Sober is now a trend, more and more people are drinking less beer from Monday to Wednesday and just taking a few puffs from an e-cigarette or gummy bear. You can relax without gaining extra weight or a hangover. A study was done in Canada on this trend, but ultimately it helps you maintain energy for the rest of the week.
Plan something fun
Everyone looks forward to the weekend because it's a chance to relax and do fun things. Why not use Monday or Tuesday as a night of special activities? Whether it's watching three favorite shows, trying out a new video game, taking a long soak in the tub, or having an early dinner with friends, make Monday or Tuesday a “fun day” by planning something fun or doing something spontaneous for 1-3 hours.

Sleep
Consider turning your weekend lie-in into an early night's sleep. Listen to calming music, read a book, and just enjoy cuddling up in bed. Turn off your phone and just relax so your body can recover for a good night's sleep.
We hope these tips turn the first part of the week into a pleasant time of self-care… and give you energy and a positive attitude for the rest of the week.
