Snoop Dogg is killing it now in Call of Duty?

This year’s unofficial cannabis holiday, April 20th, marked the start of something new in Activision’s famous game Call of Duty. Sometime in March, Call of Duty announced that one of America’s most popular celebrities would appear in-game as early as a certain unofficial April holiday. The celebrity is none other than Snoop Dogg, also known as Snoop Daddy. If you’re an avid Call of Duty gamer, this won’t come as a shock, as the character makes frequent appearances on the homepage for ads.

Call of Duty announced that Snoop would appear in the game’s three titles – Call of Duty: Mobile, Vanguard and Warzone. The Call of Duty franchise is one of the most played games in the world. As of last Wednesday, the Tracer Pack, popularly known as the Snoop Dogg Bundle, became available for players to purchase. The item debuts at 2,400 COD points, which equates to $19.99. The price alone makes it clear that this is a premium product.

What to Expect from the Tracer Pack

This is where it gets more interesting. The genius creators of the Call of Duty franchise presented Snoop Dogg’s cannabis culture in-game. A quick play with the Snoop character will prove that the developers are having a lot of fun spicing up the game with the DO Double G presence.

This is the first time Snoop Dogg has actively participated in the game. Previously, in April 2014, he contributed his voice to the game. Players could listen to his recorded narration lines during games. Some lines would call out the killstreaks, alerting players to enemy activity or presence. The highlight of this new upgrade is the cannabis aroma.

Players can play as the godfather themselves and receive fantastic items with the inscription “Snoop”. All players can purchase the new playable character on their consoles, PC and mobile devices.

Snoop’s official statement shared his excitement at actively participating in the game. He added that working with the Call of Duty team to bring in multiple fly mods was exciting to say the least. He described the new update as “dope” (all puns intended I think). He called on millions of players worldwide to check out the new features.

The Call of Duty YouTube channel uploaded a video to increase Snoop’s involvement in the game. The short video shows the various unique weapons that come with the pack. Weapons include the sniper rifle (aka the Bong Ripper), the assault rifle (aka the West Coast Bling), and the SMG (aka the Shiznit). When a player pulls the trigger, the round sprays cannabis leaves, including one printed cannabis leaf. This weird effect is called “Green Weed Tracer Rounds”.

If you’re wondering what Snoop’s operator description is, here it is.

  • Favorite Weapon: PPSH-41 can only be unlocked for free by exceeding Military Rank 51 in COD Vanguard or Warzone.

  • Hobbies: smoking weed, painting, listening to K-Pop.

The developers also included an Oscar-worthy bio. It is said that Snoop Dogg grew up in California, Long Beach. Snoop’s talent for rapping was noticed at an early age and he immediately began preparing for a career in entertainment. Today, Snoop Dogg remains an active member of the American entertainment scene as he is still releasing music. He is a regular media personality on various independent shows. The biography concluded that Snoop had chosen to fight as a Call of Duty operator in his spare time.

Other notable items in the DO Double G package include a soft metal charm, a high art cannabis leaf graffiti art spray, and an original gangster emblem. The game’s creators added an intro animation called “Tactical Toke”. A finishing move dubbed the “Finishizzle Movizzle” has also been incorporated. An MVP highlight called “Hit this, fam” will also be played at the end of each game.

Snoop’s character/operator outfit reflects his showman status. It features a distinctive jacket, hat and eyepiece.

Another success for Snoop

Dogg’s active involvement in Call of Duty is another milestone in the long list of milestones in his successful career. The bundle announcement highlights some of the icon’s most outstanding achievements over his two decades as an active member of the entertainment industry. From breaking out as a young lad with the Chronic to owning Death Row Records, a major record label in the music industry,

Snoop Dogg has had a few business ventures while being a member of an eSports organization. Mention was also made of his iconic halftime performance and his part in breaking the world record for the largest cocktail.

This isn’t Snoop’s first video game rodeo. His looks and voice have been used in games like NHL 20, Madden 20, UFC 3, Tekken Tag Tournament, True Crime: The Streets of LA, and Family Guy: The Quest for Stuff.

Famous celebrities like Keanu Reeves, Mads Mikkelsen and Norman Reedus have donated their likeness and/or voice to video games like Cyberpunk 77 and Death Stranding. However, Snoop Dogg is the first to infuse his cannabis culture into these video games without feeling too involved.

COD players who love cannabis with the DLC bundle say that Snoop’s comedy gold and cannabis humor puts the game in better perspective for them. It’s nice to be featured in a game as big as COD: Mobile, Vanguard and Warzone.

bottom line

As a longtime friend of Martha Stewart, it was only a matter of time before Snoop Dogg became a dynamic character in Call of Duty. The Doggfather has been involved in many independent pursuits such as wrestling, comedy, acting and even basketball over the past several years. Call of Duty is now one of the few popular video games that encourage cannabis use through gameplay. The number of weed references in the DLC bundle, not to mention the animated action that sees Snoop offering a blow to an enemy with his blunt, will attract many cannabis lovers to the franchise.
