Seven marijuana tips to help you enjoy the 4th of July
The 4th of July is a big party holiday and a long weekend is the perfect time to kick back and relax. Most people grab a cold drink. Drinking a beer while enjoying fireworks has become a tradition for many people when celebrating. Other popular traditions include fireworks, barbecues, hot dogs, and plenty of drinks including rosé, sangria, vodka, tequila, and most things on ice. But it’s also become a big marijuana holiday. In recent years, sales in the 23 recreational states have exploded in the days leading up to the 4th.
With populations chilled from marijuana use, it seems only natural to incorporate it into holiday celebrations. However, there are some things to watch out for and consider to maximize the fun for everyone. Here are a few tips.

Cannabis is prohibited in national parks and on federal property
Remember, just because weed is legal in your state doesn’t mean it’s legal everywhere in your state. As before reportedPossession and use of marijuana is illegal on federal property. This is especially important on the Fourth of July, as fireworks celebrations and events can be held on federal property. Federal property includes parks, park reserves and public monuments.
hydrate
Summer heat and outdoor activities mean drinking more water. While alcohol can dehydrate you, cannabis gives the impression of being dehydrated with cotton in your mouth. Drinking water will help you overcome the drought and get you through the day.
Consider low-dose edibles for the main celebrations
If you’re attending a big fireworks show or other long event with lots of people at night, remember that July 4th is a marathon, not a sprint. Heat, marijuana, and lots of walking are enough to wipe anyone out. A longer light buzz could make the day more comfortable and still accompany you into the night.

If you have a long day ahead of you, consider lower dose edibles or other low-THC methods. So you can spend a relaxing day without burning out. This method also ensures that you are not completely sober when the fireworks start.
Keep your weed safe
The 4th of July is notoriously a noisy and often wet holiday filled with water balloons and squirt guns or just plain old rain. Unsuspecting partygoers are sometimes dunked into a pool/lake with a little help. While this is usually just for fun, the last thing you need is a soaked joint or your weed floating around in the pool.
Follow the basic rules for storing weed if you plan to be out all day. Either keep your product in its original container (if waterproof) or use an airtight container to nip any potential disasters in the bud. And if all else fails, here it is What to do when your grass gets wet?
The smell doesn’t always attract the right crowd
Remember that Independence Day is a holiday that all Americans celebrate. This includes people who refuse to use marijuana and their children. While support for its use is high, that doesn’t mean it’s popular with the masses at the moment. All you need is one of these opponents to snare wind of your joint and really spoil your high.
To be more discreet, consider an unscented vape pen, edibles, or cannabis drinks instead.

Don’t surprise anyone
Weed treats and hanging out with friends are growing in popularity. Label everything weed and let everyone know. Just like we did said before, no reason to get overly scientific. Just be sure to mention what’s in them, how strong they are, and if you’ve tried them. If you’re attending a more temporary “pop-in-pop-out” event, it’s best to keep your cannabis goodies hidden. Offer them yourself when people arrive to avoid unexpected rides.
Have fun
Now you’re officially ready to party as you have more information on how to stay safe, high and healthy this weekend. After all, few holidays allow for so many fun, free, and lively activities to do with friends and family. So go ahead and enjoy the 4th of July!
