Say goodbye to grilling season with the ultimate steak recipe

Grilling is what we do from Memorial Day to Labor Day. And who doesn’t love a great, smoky steak fresh from the grill? But fall is here and many grill masters are closing the lid for the season and waiting until spring. But here’s a treat: Say goodbye to grilling season with the ultimate steak!

I’m a Texan with ranching roots and have a lot of barbecue experience. But I’ve also learned tricks from the best chefs over the years. All experiences put together, here is my favorite way to prepare my beef.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp mustard
  • 2 tablespoons dried herbs de Provence or thyme
  • 2 tsp brown sugar
  • 2 tbsp sea salt
  • 2 teaspoons freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 filet mignon steaks

Method:

  • Place mustard, thyme, sugar, salt and pepper in a small bowl and mix. Rub the mixture over the steaks and let them marinate for 30 minutes.
  • Preheat grill to medium heat.
  • GExciting time: For a 1-inch cut, grill 10 to 12 minutes for medium rare (145 degrees F) or 12 to 15 minutes for medium (160 degrees F).
  • Slice and serve with your favorite side dish. We like a bit of sautéed vegetables. Sprinkle with additional salt and cannabutter if needed!
  • For 4 people.

A few fun facts to chat about while grilling. 79 million Canadians and Americans grill or eat from the grill in the summer. Over 5.5% grill every week.
