Rhode Island weed shops open December 1st. Here’s how to find them
Rhode Island’s state licensed cannabis stores are scheduled to open this Thursday, December 1st and we have the early queue as to which stores will be open and selling marijuana products to anyone 21 and over.
Ultimately, 33 retail cannabis stores will open in Rhode Island, but this first wave of openings will affect the nine current or planned compassion centers (medical marijuana dispensaries). The other 24 branches are scheduled to go online in 2023.
As of November 28, five operating compassion centers were eligible for hybrid licenses, meaning they will be allowed to sell both medicinal and adult-use cannabis from December 1, 2022.

We expect the state opening day celebrations to be crowded and joyous. Arrive early, dress for winter, maybe bring a chair and some snacks. The lines will be long but friendly and cheerful. Don’t forget to bring cash and your ID – you’ll need it even if you’re 101 years old.
