Replica of a flaming Homer from The Simpsons

Duff Beer and donuts are two fake foods that are difficult to use up. But the cocktails featured on “The Simpsons” are a total mess, a pleasure that doesn’t exist in real life.

That didn’t stop Cocktail Chemistry from recreating literal versions of a few select drinks from the series, including Skittlebrau (beer and Skittles) and the Flaming Homer, which Homer invented in an episode where he was desperate and combined the tails of every liquor bottle in his Cupboard, including a bottle of children’s cough syrup. Luckily, Cocktail Chemistry had the good sense to create a tastier version of this drink, without Dimetapp and “21 Run” alcohol.

A more sophisticated recreation included a single plum, perfume and a man’s hat. Take care of yourself. Two of the drinks are worth trying in the house bar.

The drinks first appeared when they aired on the Fox network on November 21, 1991. In the episode, Homer tells Moe Szyslak about the Flaming Homer, an alcoholic cocktail of cough medicine and fire that he invented. Moe steals Homer’s recipe, renames it Flaming Moe, and sells it at his tavern.
