Religious dogma is anti-cannabis legalization?

Reginald Bong shreds religious dogma to shreds…

It’s been a while since I put on my “thinking gloves” and did a few rounds with some random internet “opinion”. You see, I don’t mind if people attack my arguments. In the past I’ve felt some hate because of the things I write, but for the most part I’m stitching together a pretty coherent thought.

At least I have a few highly entertaining lines that people seem to enjoy.

So I believe that if anyone feels like “tearing a new one” on anything I’ve written in the past – more power to them! I think opinions or ideas are meant to be discussed, resolved, challenged and strengthened in the art of mental combat.

For this reason, I dedicate some of my writing energy to writing responses to assumptions, accusations, and outright lies from people seeking to enforce a state of prohibition.

To be fair, I don’t care if you smoke or not – my main principle is that you are an autonomous being who should autonomously decide what you can and cannot consume. No state should have the power to tell you, “Don’t eat that!” or “Don’t drink that!”

If I’m truly free, I should be able to drink a bottle of rattlesnake venom if I want to… however, in places like the US, “suicide has long been a crime.” This is no longer the case nationwide, but many locations still list “attempted suicide” as a criminal offense in their statutes.

A crime against whom?

That’s the big question…who owns the individual?

Well – that depends on who you ask, and that’s the perfect opening to introduce our “virtual contender” for today’s fight.

father dogma

Stoners and Stonettes – introducing them – “The Dogma Father” who argues that the state enforces God’s law (but not directly) and believes that legalizing cannabis is “bad mmm-kay”.

I don’t really know what this guy’s real name is – and in all likelihood he’s probably not a bad guy if you get to know him in real life.

However, the opinion that resides in his gray head is a treacherous beast to slay. It is rooted in a “satanic principle” that I will explain later, and that is in direct contradiction to his true beliefs. In fact, I’ve written extensively about it here. Today, however, I shall apply those same ideals in opposition to his dogmatic and highly religious beliefs.

So let’s get ready!

ROUND 1: Marijuana is a dangerous drug!

DOGMA FATHER TAKES THE FIRST MOMENTUM:

Despite this widespread acceptance, marijuana remains a dangerous drug undermines both good civil order and public health. It decreases ability to control emotions, leading to inappropriate and antisocial behavior. It is a recognized cause of crime and violence, as well as car accidents and other mishaps.

It’s also deeply self-destructive. Marijuana users are three times as likely to commit suicide as the general population. And marijuana is widely recognized as a “gateway drug” that leads to the use of other, more potent and addictive substances. Research suggests that it even increases alcohol consumption.

REGINALD ANSWERS:

HOLY SHIT ARE WE IN TIME TRAVEL? All we’re missing now is “the blacks thinking they’re as good as the whites,” as attributed to Harry J. Anslinger.

There is absolutely no evidence to support any of Dogma Father’s claims. In fact, every place that has been legalized has seen an overall decrease in crime, as shown by THIS STUDY. Second, there is no evidence that it “decreases the ability to control emotions.”

I’ve been smoking cannabis for twenty years and despite certain moments in my life where I’ve been under extreme pressure – I’m as zen as it gets. Now, some might argue that it is “anecdotal evidence” that is true, but his statement is a blanket statement that assumes that “anyone cannot control their emotions under the influence of cannabis,” and the very existence of myself destroys this claim.

While I haven’t seen the purported study claiming that cannabis increases the likelihood of suicide… which I highly doubt… we can play devil’s advocate with this one.

Let’s assume it’s true that people who commit suicide also smoke cannabis. However, couldn’t cannabis just be a coping mechanism for the crippling depression it brings? Couldn’t they try to numb the pain and cannabis is an available substance?

Maybe it’s not that cannabis leads to more suicide… maybe it’s suicidal people using cannabis to escape their minds. I know a few people who have had suicidal tendencies and have helped them deal with these thoughts – it’s never the substance that causes the thoughts… it’s usually an internal underlying trauma hidden from awareness.

If anything, you can use cannabis to heal those broken parts – but again, anecdotally!

DOGMA FATHER TAKES ANOTHER MOMENTUM

A proposal to legalize pot shops is expected to come before the Collier County Board of Commissioners early next year. That’s unfortunate, because even public debate over legal sales will draw additional attention to the drug and make it a common topic of conversation. This reinforces the false impression that open availability is a legitimate public policy option.

If the measure were to pass, the aggressive advertising that would inevitably follow can only reinforce the message that marijuana is okay.

It is not okay.

REGINALD DODGE AND JABS

God forbid anyone actually talking about the problems or problems in their life. It’s far more polite to bury your problems deep in your subconscious, put on a fake smile, and pretend everything is fine.

What is unfortunate is not that people are making cannabis a common topic of conversation, but the blatant refusal to acknowledge that “some people smoke cannabis”. The “leprosy strategy” of excluding or downplaying a group of people who contradict your narrative doesn’t work.

You called us stoners and we took your word and made it ours, built a culture around it and influenced the masses.

The wrong impression is that the ban works. But all prohibition criminalizes your ability to choose what you can and cannot consume, gives government uncontrolled powers, and essentially enslaves the world.

THE FINAL ATTACK OF THE DOGMA FATHER!

Legalization is an extremely unwise policy. We must insist that our district commissioners approach this proposal with the utmost caution.

You only have to look at the consequences of unrestricted marijuana sales in cities like San Francisco, Denver, and others that have gone the legalization route. Increased crime, increased traffic congestion, rising sickness, increasing homelessness and begging – these and other deteriorating civic conditions are all too evident.

Marijuana is both a threat and a danger. We don’t want the quality of life in Collier County to perish.

REGINALD BOBS AND SPIDERS

All these “consequences” are not guaranteed. They are merely perceptions of an indoctrinated religious scholar who believes that “the way things were” is the way to go. Sorry to say that, but no – all of this was based on lies, power grabs and actually made drugs more dangerous.

Their whole philosophy is actually kind of satanic when you think about it.

REGINALD COMES IN WITH A FAST TWO

The other day I was thinking about the Garden of Eden (and the kind of grass they might have had)….jk

I thought about the concept of creation and under the Christian myth God is the creator of everything. Including cannabis. God made it for human consumption – He says so in the Bible.

Almost all of the Bible’s warnings against immodesty are related to drunkenness. The times the Bible mentions grass as an ingredient in the holy anointing oils.

So denying people access to cannabis literally means “God screwed up!” He didn’t mean cannabis!

I also particularly remember parts of the Bible that speak of “adding words to God’s Word” and that this is a big “no” within the overall ethos of Almighty God.

But let’s say you want to apply the “drunk” reasoning to cannabis, since you see that it gets you high. Of course, cannabis doesn’t get you high the way alcohol gets you drunk. The effects are completely different.

Nonetheless, for the sake of argument – if God “warned” you about weed – he didn’t enforce his warning. Let me put it this way, you have “free will” under the ethos of God, which means you have the freedom to sin.

But for some reason Father Dogma believes that God is wrong once again. You can’t just “allow people to be,” you have to “enforce your law.”

Except that God doesn’t enforce His laws. If you get drunk or fuck your neighbor’s wife, you won’t drop dead for breaking God’s law.

You may “risk” the chance of eternal damnation in the fiery pits of hell, but while you live you may sin as much as your wretched heart desires.

My question is; “If God is not enforcing His heavenly laws upon man…if Christ has not intervened in earthly affairs – why is the Dogma Father sucking the governor’s cock so hard?”

I think the answer lies in the function of “organized religion” within the fabric of society. It is no coincidence that the Dogma Father spat out similar points to Anslinger…they are cut from the same cloth.

There is a song that has a line that says:

“Government wants your skin, religion wants your inner soul, but all they seek is gold to bring you under their control…”
SOURCE: (SONG)

And that’s exactly right. The truth is that these commands do not come from a “loving god” but rather from the authoritarian hooks of Satan (according to their myth).

Think about it, God says, “Live by those rules and life is great,” but then He doesn’t enforce the rules, they’re more like guidelines.

In the Bible, however, Satan is portrayed as wanting to “bind and deceive you” in order to “control your will.”

How, then, is enforcing prohibitions a matter of “God”? Sounds more like devil stuff to me…
