How to make cannabis chocolate covered strawberries

Fresh strawberries dipped in dark chocolate

Step 1: Prepare the strawberries and pans

Clean your strawberries with water and then place them on a dry surface. Pat dry with a paper towel and allow to dry completely before proceeding to the next steps. Meanwhile, line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Step 2: Heat the water

When your strawberries are completely dry, fill the bottom of your double boiler or saucepan with water until it’s half full. Place this on the stovetop over medium-high heat and bring to a low, gentle simmer.

Step 3: Melt the chocolate

Melt the chocolate on the stove

Place your cannabis candy bars in the top half of your double boiler or heatproof glass bowl. Break the bars into pieces so they melt faster. Monitor the heat – you don’t want to accidentally overheat the chocolate and destroy those precious cannabinoids!

Reduce the heat and place the chocolate-filled double boiler or heatproof glass bowl over the pot of boiled water. Make sure that the steam from the boiled water does not come into contact with your chocolate, otherwise it will not achieve the ideal chocolate gloss when it later hardens. Don’t fret if this isn’t perfect; shiny or not, they still taste delicious. Slowly and steadily stir your chocolate as it melts.

Step 5: Dip your strawberries

Once the chocolate has completely melted, grasp your strawberries by their leaf tips. Slowly dip the strawberries into the melted chocolate and roll to get an even layer of chocolate. When you’re satisfied, allow them to drip into the bowl for a second, then carefully place them on the parchment paper you prepared. Work as fast as you can and repeat with all 12 strawberries.

Options:

If you are going to decorate your cannabis chocolate covered strawberries with coconut flakes, crushed almonds, mini sugar pearls or sprinkles, now is the time to take an extra step.

After dunking the strawberries in the melted chocolate, quickly dip the chocolate-covered tops of the strawberries in a bowl filled with the decoration of your choice before placing them on the parchment paper.

Step 6: Let cool

Place your baking sheet with all 12 chocolate covered strawberries in the fridge and let chill for 30 minutes. If you have leftover chocolate, you can pour it onto its own parchment paper and remelt it at a later time, or just enjoy it as it hardens again.

After cooling, your cannabis chocolate covered strawberries are ready for a romantic evening or a special treat. Enjoy!

How to store your cannabis-infused chocolate-covered strawberries

Keep your cannabis chocolate covered strawberries in sealed tupperware, refrigerate and consume within two days for best quality. Alternatively, you can wrap your chocolate covered strawberries in foil and place in a freezer bag to freeze them and enjoy longer.
