Real marijuana and virtual reality – do they go together?
They are two giants of a new era – marijuana and virtual reality (VR). Marijuana is making a comeback after decades of prohibition, and 88% of people think some form should be legalized. Virtual reality puts us in a customized universe that allows us to see and do things we only dreamed of before. But can they guide you down a path together?
VR is a $31 billion global market with an estimated 171 million users worldwide. The 25-34 year olds are the largest market at 23%. Marijuana is a nearly $30 billion global market with approximately 147 million users.
While VR puts you in an artificial world, marijuana enhances the world you are in, whether real or virtual. Marijuana contains THC, the ingredient that gets you high. For many people, the THC experience is a pleasant euphoria and a sense of relaxation. Other common effects, which may vary by consumer, include increased sensory perception (eg, brighter colors), laughter, and an altered perception of time.
The cannabis effect blends well into the VR experience, making for a potentially great addition.

On Reddit and other forums, people are sharing the deeper immersion of a combined experience. According to the comments, it seems to take games and movies to another level, making you feel more alive and stimulating your senses.
Today in VR you can attend concerts, ride roller coasters, play games, explore real and fantasy locations, go deep sea diving and much more. You can also attend meetings, lectures, and more—but that’s a different experience.
Ray in Seattle says, “VR with marijuana intensifies all the senses and makes it a full body and mind experience – seeing a concert is the most amazing experience.”
On the other hand, VR writer Reter Rubin wrote an article for Wired in which he isn’t a fan of this mix. Seeing it as his personal journey, he prefers to share the experience.

Another benefit of a mild high during use is that it can eliminate motion sickness, which can be very distracting. Both VR and marijuana are poised to get more people engaged over the next few years, and improvements will only continue. We will contact you and let you know how to proceed.
