Puffco.com is closing due to the Post Office’s vape ban
California-based Puffco, a well-known vaping hardware company in the cannabis world, announced the “temporary” closure of its Puffco.com website yesterday in an email message to consumers.
The message read:
Puffco sent this email to consumers to announce the closure of the company.
A similar message appeared on the company’s website today.
The shutdown is the first high-profile response to the recent US Postal Service ban on commercial shipping of all steamers across the country. Leafly published a full analysis of this action in this article.
A Puffco.com customer said they received an order earlier this month and the experience could point to the challenges the company is facing. “Someone showed up in a normal car, knocked on my door and I had to sign a receipt for the package,” the customer told Leafly. “The delivery man didn’t have a uniform or any indication that he was working for a delivery company. The item came in a plain Manila mailer with Puffco branded packaging inside. It was from a delivery company whose name I had never heard of. “

It’s unclear whether yesterday’s announcement includes a temporary shutdown of the entire company and product line, or just a suspension of orders through Puffco.com.
Company officials declined to respond to inquiries, and an independent public relations representative who has worked with the company in the past told Leafly that Puffco’s leadership had decided not to speak on the matter for now.
For now, Puffco fans must handle their devices with special care. They can become rare collectibles.
