Prepare for the outdoor growing season with Dosidos & other hit strains

Strain by strain, ILGM prepares you for outdoor crop success.

The outdoor cannabis growing season is upon us, so it’s time to stock up on seeds and start planning your harvest.

Indoor cannabis plants naturally have their own benefits, but there’s nothing quite like cannabis plants grown outdoors, powered by natural light and their sweet scent wafting in the wind. If you’re willing to cede a little control to Mother Nature, sun-grown cannabis plants will reward you with large, juicy buds rich in cannabinoids and terpenes. Not relying on air conditioners like grow lights is better for both the environment and your electric bill.

Whether you’ve had a few successful seasons or are planning your first outdoor crops, Robert Bergman is a trusted resource. He’s been growing cannabis for more than 25 years and maintains one of the most detailed guides available to modern cannabis cultivation, including strain-specific resources – all for free.

In addition to educational resources, his I Love Growing Marijuana (ILGM) website offers high-quality seeds for hundreds of strains. It’s a one stop shop for everything you need for a successful harvest.

Get ready for spring

The real outdoor growing season doesn’t start until mid-May, but there’s still work to be done before then. Whether you live up north or down south, late winter is the perfect time to get the party started.

According to Bergman, people in northern climes should start shopping for equipment like pots and watering supplies along with seeds, soil, and nutrients in February. Once the last frost has passed, prepare your soil with compost and worms – for more temperate climates this could be towards the end when it is an ideal time to germinate seeds indoors with artificial light. Indica strains are more likely to thrive in cooler climates with shorter summers.

In the South, you can probably start tilling the soil right away, and be sure to stock up on supplies. If you are in a warmer climate, you can even sprout your seeds on a windowsill. Sativa strains are great for longer, hotter summer days.

They’ll thank you for all the winter work during your busy spring and summer – once the days stretch 14 hours, it’s time to get those baby plants outside! ILGM has a grow calendar with a to-do list for each month of the growing season.
