November 2023 Leafly HighLight: Motorbreath strain

Crank up Motörhead as Lemmy belts out “The Ace of Spades” as you grind up a bowl of Motorbreath – our November Leafly HighLight strain.

Let’s start with the disclaimer: Motorbreath is intended for people who enjoy sitting on the back seat of a motorcycle and driving along the Great Highway at 80 miles per hour on a foggy night, dodging sand dunes. According to most reviewers, Motorbreath even smells like diesel, chemicals, and pepper. Why do we sign up for this?

For one person, Zoom is Zen for another – the THC-tolerant plant reports that it makes her feel euphoric, relaxed and exhilarated. More specifically, people take Motorbreath to treat anxiety, stress, and depression. According to 292 reviews, it receives an average score of 4.7 out of 5.

“Definitely good for anxiety and insomnia and for relieving my combat-related post-traumatic stress disorder,” says one veteran.

“Fire… This is one of the most euphoric strains I’ve ever tasted. Relaxed and pleasant feelings. “Particularly good for vegetarian diets,” says another.

Motorbreath wins my 2023 Most Under the Radar award. Within a year, the number reached 1,000 menus in U.S. pharmacies, and search traffic was low. Motorbreath keeps it quiet but devastating.

Who got the gas? Best powered breathing apparatus in the USA

“I love Motorbreath for its ability to make my anxiety and stress completely disappear,” says Snowtill, a Bay Area indoor soil grower who is launching for adult use in January.“I love Motorbreath for its ability to make my anxiety and stress completely disappear,” says Snowtill, a Bay Area indoor soil grower who is launching for adult use in January.

Created by Pisces Genetics from SFV OG x Chem Dog, Motorbreath functions as a premium craft strain, all the way up to mass-produced status. And hashish makers love it too.

As we look over Motorbreath in the US, we first spot California’s best versions from The Source and The Cure Co. We picked up big deals at Almora and Jetty Extracts has a great Motorbreath rosin cart.

Up in Portland, Oregon we made the round of 16 for the Resin Ranchers. In Seattle – Phat Panda pumps it out.

Motorbreath is an older strain from the quiet breeder Jimmie Nitz and his Pisces Genetics. Nitz reportedly received the Chemdog cut from the strain’s popularizer, Greg “Chemdog” Krzanowski. Since fish seem to be inactive, we would start with Blimburn’s Motor Breath – they are highly recommended. Today there are at least 42 known hybrids of Motorbreath, most notably from Jungle Boys, Cannarado, Wyeast, Bloom Seed Co and Dungeons Vault. Check out these breeders.

Our newest favorites include Mr. Plow (Motorbreath x Cold Snap), bred by Wyeast and hunted by Sense Cannabis in San Francisco. Sense CEO Steve Griffith said the team germinated dozens of hybrids from Motorbreath as well as parent Chemdog to “harness one potent gas at a time from across the genetic line.”

Has the Motorbreath strain won any awards?

Yes – quite a few. Motorbreath has made a name for itself as a flower or hashish in the USA and around the world. In 2017 she won the Southern California Cannabis Cup for flower and the Michigan Cannabis Cup for concentrate for the first time. We at Leafly were thrilled. It’s a top 100 of all time and goes well with “Mad Max: Fury Road” in our “Best Science Fiction Movie to Watch” list at the top.

Other strains to try alongside Motorbreath in November

Can’t Motorbreath score points in your city? Here are three more top finishers.

Devil Driver

Keep the Halloween spirit going into November and watch the leaves die with Devil Driver – this darkened bud with a melony front note and a dessert-like, minty back. Many budtenders liked it in the nationwide survey we conducted in October – so look out for the successful Melonade x Sundae Driver cross at the Leafly Budtenders’ Choice Awards on December 5th. Devil Driver is a project by breeder Tiki Madman in collaboration with Clearwater Genetics. CAM, the indoor grower from Sacramento, just gave us the most beautiful bag of Devil Driver we’ve ever seen. Now we’re all goth again – smoky-eyed and watching The Crow.

E85

The world-class cannabis genetics scene in Oakland, California powers E85 by Grandiflora. Named after your gas pump’s fuel readings, Grandiflora hits the gas and rakes in big bucks with this cross between the blockbusters Lemon Cherry Gelato x Runtz. It’s like Drake and Jay-Z taking a victory lap on a song. It sells.

“I have been a daily smoker for 22 years with a few years off here and there. This is hands down the best shit I’ve ever smoked,” said one happy customer.

“The taste is delicious Runtz with hints of lemon and cherry on the exhale,” said another.

Hawaiian snow cone

Go from heavy metal to chill surf rock with Hawaiian snowcone. Sonoma, California-based Moon Valley Cannabis beat 15 competitors on October 21 to win California’s premier smoke festival – the Transbay Challenge V Finals in Los Angeles. Zkittlez pours this syrupy-sweet and delicious mixture over lemon-cherry gelato with a finishing touch of Hawaiian Plushers (Peach Rings x Lemon Gushers). It’s another hit from breeder Tiki Madman – so get involved.

And this is your Leafly HighLight for November. Order from Leafly, heat up, and enjoy the seasonal Thanksgiving pumpkin table. Peace.
