Make a pumpkin bong | Fifth Ave Green House

Halloween is just around the corner and the first thing that comes to mind is pumpkins.

At this time of year, we grab some pumpkins, those ubiquitous fall pumpkins, and carve a creepy jack-o’-lantern.

There’s no need to waste the inside as you can make delicious snacks by drying and baking the seeds and turning the orange pulp of these vegetables into a healthy, tasty soup that will keep you warm on a cool autumn night. Or you can process the innards into a delicious pumpkin pie.

But really, the scariest thing you can do with your pumpkin this Halloween is carving it into a super scary pumpkin bong.

Making a pumpkin bong will help you take your Halloween experience to the next level. If you’re not sure if you can do this, don’t worry, we’ve created the best guide on how to make an easy-to-follow pumpkin bong.

What do you need to prepare?

· Sharpie

· A tough pumpkin

· Glass substructure

· Bowl piece

· For a professional touch, use the bottom stem of your bong if you have one on hand.

Knife (or other carving tool)

· Spoon

Find the right pumpkin.

It is best to prioritize height over roundness, as there must be enough space for the mouthpiece and a down tube.

When you get to the pumpkin patch, imagine you need to add these parts to your pumpkin and leave plenty of room. Keep in mind that larger pumpkins have a larger capacity and are therefore harder to smoke. So don’t overdo it and get yourself the biggest pumpkin you can find.

Mark where your cuts will go.

Before taking any permanent steps, be sure to determine where your cuts will go, such as a blueprint. Don’t try to give it wings! Use your sharpie to mark the following locations on the pumpkin. Pick up the pumpkin and try to figure out the most convenient place for your mouth and flower bowl so that you can smoke it easily.

· Substructure Hole: The bottom hole should be on the side of the pumpkin at a 45-degree angle from the bottom of the pumpkin.

Mouthpiece hole: The mouthpiece should be at the top or near the top of the pumpkin.

Pumpkin top: The cut at the top of the pumpkin should be wide enough for you to effectively clean the pumpkin, but not so wide that it interferes with the hole in the mouthpiece or under the stem. The top should be snug to ensure a good seal when the pumpkin bong is in use.

Cut off the top of the pumpkin.

Using a very sharp knife, follow the markings to cut out the top of the pumpkin. Be careful to keep the top intact. Also, be careful not to cut into the down tube or mouthpiece area. You want to keep a seal as clean as possible so take your time.

You can use a zigzag pattern to cut out the top. However, we have found that a single circular incision minimizes the surface area of the incisions and exposes them to less air so that a better seal can be achieved.

Hollow out the inside of the pumpkin

After removing the top, use a spoon to “gutt” the pumpkin. Remove the seeds and create a sound-sized chamber in the pumpkin, but don’t remove all of the pulp as you will need something to hold the stem and peel in place.

You can save the pumpkin meat you scoop out to make a cake or soup later. If you follow our method for Making canna oil, you can even add cannabis to your Halloween meal.

To thoroughly clean it, rinse the inside of the pumpkin with water.

Don’t forget to trim the pulp of the pumpkin top! But do this slowly and make sure the top seals well once it is in place.

Install substructure / bowl

It is important to do this step very carefully. The bowl and the base must have a tight fit. If it’s too loose, you’ll suck in air and won’t get a good hit.

We used a knife, but you can also do this step with a drill or screwdriver.

On this step, hold the top of the pumpkin away to see where the blade goes into the pumpkin, and make sure you don’t pierce the bottom.

Cut out the designated area for the down tube, but keep the bottom of the hole at a 45 degree angle.

This keeps the down tube pointing downwards and prevents it from splashing back. Insert the base into the hole. Finally, place the bowl on the end of the lower level.

Adjust the mouthpiece

If you haven’t already, replace the top of the pumpkin. Next, use a knife tool to carve the mouthpiece hole in the pumpkin. Then insert the mouthpiece into the hole.

Instead of a mouthpiece, you can also use a straw. In this case, you will need to use a smaller tool (such as a screwdriver) to pierce the pumpkin.

Add water

Add a small amount of water to allow the smoke to flow more evenly. If you want the pumpkin to look more like a bowl or dab device, you can leave out the water.

Optional: decorate the outside

While it doesn’t improve the smoke quality, it is always fun to decorate your pumpkin.

Create a design that says Fall or Halloween with a permanent marker!

Don’t cut off a jack-o-lantern like a regular jack-o-lantern, as this will cause the smoke to escape.
