Lil ‘Kim enters cannabis space with superbad CampNova Partnership |

Hip-hop legend and fashion icon Lil ‘Kim is the latest celebrity to join the cannabis war. The partnership with the Californian pot brand superbad inc. and Brooklyn native-born tech platform CampNova joins the market and a growing list of celebrity brands eager to make their mark in the booming cannabis game.

In addition to personal market success, Lil ‘Kim and her business partners hope to inspire more black and female entrepreneurs to enter the industry as business leaders.

She spoke to High Times at MJBizCon 2021 in Las Vegas, where everyone was making the rounds in the media on her final day. Along with Superbad CEO Carlos Dew, Lil ‘Kim said the partnership comes after a lengthy but necessary process that includes market watch and a lot of research and development from Queen Bee.

“We’ve been going back and forth over the years,” said Dew, adding that now is the time to move forward as legislation and market developments tend to move higher.

Lil ‘Kim, headlining the 2017 High Times Canada Cannabis Cup, agreed with Dew. The self-proclaimed hustler added that pot has always been a market she wanted to get into. She stated that other brands had approached her over the years, but she never felt ready to take an opportunity.

“I’ve done my homework and researched,” said the artist and enthusiast.

She explained why now is the time to get involved. “This is the way the world is going,” asks rhetorically: “Why not?”

Product quality was just as important. To match the quality of cannabis she was exposed to in Brooklyn and beyond, Kim said the product had to be of the highest quality.

“I’m surrounded by cannabis smokers – everyone around me,” she said. “I have an expensive taste.” After trying what Superbad had to offer, Kim said she came across the gas she wanted to focus on.

What to Expect from Lil ‘Kim in Cannabis

The trio focused on bigger goals and saved product details for later.

Dew said plans are on the move but they prefer to release more information for now. “We will do everything in phases; then it will strike, ”he said. The trio did not announce when the next phase of the news would appear.

Emery Morrison, co-founder of CampNova, stated that Kim’s partnership would include promoting products through various video and audio activities. CampNova is a technical e-commerce platform that he says “socializes the ordering process”.

In essence, Morrison stated that the platform works like a combination of UberEats, Fashion Nova and Weedmaps, giving customers access to products in demand through a tiered membership. Customers can use the service for free or subscribe to monthly paid levels for discounts and bonuses.

Lil ‘Kim joins a list of well-known partner brands in and outside of cannabis and currently has between 30 and 40 brands on the platform. The star joins a CampNova roster that includes 2 Chainz, Cann, Mickey Hart, Carlos Santana, Lamar Odom, Jay-Z, Ricky Williams, Mike Tyson, Jerry Garcia, and a few others.

The company is also involved in branding and product selection depending on the brand’s preferred sales and marketing plan. CampNova’s recent efforts include online social media advertising as well as physical activations.

In August 2021, the company partnered with Lil Wayne’s GKUA brand, offering free VIP livestream access to its show at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum with every purchase of GKUA’s Ultra Premium product through CampNova.

The group did not explain what activations Lil’Kim would be involved in. Dew provided a top-level overview, stating that customers could expect an offer that matches Lil’Kim’s status as a fashion and music icon.

With hope, Lil ‘Kim will continue to bring the Californian brand to cult status. The premium indoor line, geared towards millennials, is currently sold in four Southern California counties and features flowers, pre-roll joints, and badders. Officially launched in October 2020, LA Superbad describes itself as “the brand of culture” and asks consumers: “How bad are you?”

The cannabis brand’s desire to be “the perfect accent” for a modern lifestyle fits right in with Lil ‘Kim’s brand. Dew spoke about how his company’s vision aligns with Lil ‘Kim and CampNova.

“Our whole thing is quality. So Kim will be of great quality, ”he said.

Kim stated that she chose to partner with superbad after discovering that the brand was “mature, classy and well-designed.” She added that she did not intend to put her name on any brand, which often seems to be the case with certain celebrity supporters.

Influence other women and girls for leadership positions in business

The partnership between Lil ‘Kim, superbad and CampNova has additional meaning as all principles are black entrepreneurs.

Morrison, with a background in marketing and branding and working with top names like T Mobile and Monster Audio, highlighted the collaborative partnership between the three.

He said that all parties are committed to ensuring that each brand continues to thrive, a strategy CampNova applies to every partnership. Morrison said it was important to support a project that was highlighted by a high profile black hip hop artist.

“There’s no other brand like this,” he said.

If the company is successful, Morrison sees it having an impact on other young black girls, including his three daughters.

“I want you to see someone who is a Black woman doing their thing so they can dream,” he explained.

Dew gave a similarly upbeat look at Lil ‘Kim’s potential impact. He said, “I think she should be able to show the way women can get into the cannabis community and start their own businesses.”

Lil ‘Kim was concerned with a similar ideal outcome. “I want to empower women to be more involved.” Specifically, she emphasized that she wanted to let women know that they can do everything.
