Kiva Lost Farm Gummies Review
For even the most die-hard flower lover, the appeal of dependable, well-dosed edibles is inevitable. Convenience and discretion are not always a necessity when using cannabis, but while we are still in this no man’s land era where there are a plethora of product options in legal markets as Prohibition takes its last breath, it is always good to know who to turn to for a reliable edible. And it certainly helps if the gummy bear, chocolate, or other candy you’re working with is delicious.
Kiva Confections has been in the edible game since 2010 and has secured a place at the top of their trade in the California cannabis market for the past decade. My experiences with the brand have always been consistently positive. The Kiva Camino Sparkling Pear Gums have become a real staple in my stash.
Kiva blends elegance with reliability in its products, and the experience is rooted in a strong sense of that nuanced cannabis high that people turn to the plant for primarily.
Ideally, the goal of a cannabis edible should be to preserve as much of the plant’s integrity as possible. Kiva’s Lost Farm line of confectionery appears to double that concept, offering “variety-specific, plant-based gums and chews that are infused with 100% live resin for a distinctive full-spectrum high”. Advertised as being fully sensory and extra strong, the Lost Farm gummies and chewy candies are clearly meant to denote a nuanced high that reflects the physical experience that Mother Nature intended. So let’s open up some Lost Farm gummies and see how they measure up to Kiva’s other yummy edibles.
For this review, we’ll be looking at Lost Farm’s raspberry and strawberry lemonade gums, which are made with living resin from Wedding Cake and Super Lemon Haze varieties, respectively.
First impressions
The packaging of the Lost Farm line stands out on a pharmacy shelf. In contrast to the Camino rubbers from Kiva, which are supplied in a sturdy, round box, the Lost Farm rubbers are packed in a round tube with a rotatable lid. The label designs are characterized by vivid colors, bold fonts and dream landscapes of world travelers, reminiscent of the cannabis and tobacco packaging of the turn of the century. On the back of the label you will find “Strain Notes” which further emphasize that this product is associated with a specific cannabis plant. The gums themselves are medium-sized sugar-coated rounds, about the size of a silver dollar.
Lost Farm raspberry gums
taste
Judging by taste and texture, the Lost Farm gummies are way above average. There’s always a catch with lower quality gummy bears where you get that “chemical” flavor of weed oil that clashes with an artificial sweet taste. Similar to other kiva edibles, the Lost Farm gummies do not have this problem.
The attractive powder blue raspberry gum had a satisfactorily sour taste that was not too sweet and blended well with a lively resinous taste that the plant appropriately evoked.
effectiveness
I mainly consume sun-grown flowers with 13-18% THC on a daily basis, so my THC tolerance is quite high without being fully exhausted. Although a 10 milligram THC gummy is rare enough to feel like I had achieved the full effects of a product, I decided to start with just one to see how I would feel and then went up to 20 ° C on two gums around milligrams of THC when it was time to try the strawberry lemonade flavor. And although it eventually took two gums to feel like I had the full Lost Farm experience, I found the potency of the one raspberry gum efficient and enjoyable.
If your THC tolerance is moderate to low or this is your first time trying Kiva Lost Farm gums, exercise due diligence starting with a 10 milligram gum, then wait up to 90 minutes to see the full effect feel before you you’re taking more.
experience
I popped a raspberry gum just before walking into a movie theater – one of my frequent hangouts for entertainment under the influence, especially since I’m fully vaccinated and the cinemas open.
Personally, a 10 milligram gummy was enough to create a subtle but engaging high that put me in the zone and helped me lose myself in the movie. It wasn’t exactly a rock-hard high, but it was enough to slowly creep me in and tear me away before I knew it was happening. By the time the roughly 90-minute movie was over, I felt like I was standing over my head, but my body and mind still felt immediately relaxed.
Lost Farm strawberry lemonade gums
taste
Just like the raspberry gum, the taste of Lost Farm strawberry lemonade is tart and fruity, while still pleasantly rooted in the natural, earthy taste of live resin. If you are looking for a confectionery that tastes like it comes from a real plant, without losing sight of the fact that it is still a candy product, then you will be happy with this product.
effectiveness
As already mentioned, I took into account my THC tolerance for the strawberry lemonade gums and took two pieces – 20 milligrams of THC – in order to get a better grip on the full effects of the product. As you consume less frequently, start low and slow.
experience
It had taken about an hour before I realized I was deep in a thick head high that began as a subtle calm before spreading into the front of my skull and the rest of my body in a slow, spinning tingling sensation .
For whatever reason, the sensation brought to mind the mindfulness exercise I am practicing, where I try to be aware of the insides of my fingers, then my hands, and then mentally move through the rest of my body until I feel like I have achieved a sense of physical presence. I think there was a naturally meditative element of the high that you don’t normally get with an edible. The experience also had an emotional component that surprised me, but it was cheerful and therefore a welcome change.
Bottom line
A good edible should offer an optimized reflection of the cannabis high without diluting the experience that the actual plant provides. A natural cannabis high should be multi-faceted and appreciate the intricate, nuanced biology of the plant. If you’re looking for a nuanced, powerful high from a discreet product that penetrates the mind and body like real cannabis should, the Lost Farm line from Kiva Confections is the place for you.
