July 2024 Leafly HighLight: Gush Mints variety
Turn your brain off after a long summer day with the trendy, minty indica hybrid Gush Mints. Gush Mints has made it into the top 200 American strains in just three years – she gets smokers hot and is a beast in the garden. That's a winning recipe to become a Leafly HighLight. Let's soak it up. (This Leafly HighLight is powered by ILGM+Phylos Seeds.)
“This smells exactly how I want my weed to smell. It has that Durban Poison/Cookies flatulent sweetness with a hint of vanilla pine,” said one reviewer.
Gush Mints causes drowsiness, tingling, and hunger in reviewers.
“I swear this is a strong indica. Helps with my insomnia and chronic back pain,” said one reviewer.
It contains 20% THC or more, making it very strong for beginners as it can make you dizzy, jittery, and even slightly headache-inducing. Critics find it extremely calming, which is something we can all use in an election year.
“The effect really reminds me of Hindu Kush,” said one reviewer.

Gush Mints comes from Oakland, California-based breeder and cloner Purple City Genetics, who have been around since before legalization. PCG created the strain by combining Seed Junky Genetics' groundbreaking Kush Mints with the rare F1 Durb and the successful modern strain Gushers (also known as TK41). Each strain added mint flavor, power, or sweetness, respectively. Gush Mints will conquer your garden.
It was fun to breed. The strain is voracious and very thirsty.

Gush Mints Terpenes
Gush Mints stink of the essential oils that cannabis produces – called terpenes. The most important of these are limonene, caryophyllene, and linalool. These three help explain the sweetness and gassy taste of Gush Mints, but we're still learning more about what causes the smell, taste, and effects of weed.
