July 2023 Leafly HighLight: Variety Peach Ringz

Peaches, peaches, peaches, peaches – I love you, oh.

Anyone who wants to smoke hype weed while keeping the summer in high gear shouldn’t sleep on good amounts of the hybrid strain Peach Ringz.

This July, Peach Ringz is delivering sour, stone fruit and fuel terps from coast to coast with party hybrid effects. We’re thrilled that Peach Ringz is making the top 200 selling strains in North American dispensaries and stores—she has a champion pedigree and remains trending with growers.

Dentists may hate us for it, but Peach Ringz wins our July Leafly HighLight.

Leading flavor shaper Dying Breed Seeds created Peach Ringz by adding more fruits of the Marionberry strain to the fuel and power of Eddy OG. Seeds from it sold for $750 and started a craze that continues to this day with Gummiez by Compound Genetics and Hawaiian Plushers by Tiki Madman. Peach Ringz has sold out nationwide as a popular flavor in distillate pens and disposables, but really shines in California as a premium bloom and live rosin.

Peach Ringz gets a 4.2 out of 5 rating on Leafly, but the best examples are 5 out of 5 for all day. Vape manufacturers often fake the terp profile, so look for the original, which can smell like peach, apricot, and mango, with tart potency from the OG and peachy sweetness from the Marionberry. The hybrid test is 21%, but that’s good enough. The terpenes and other compounds make the effect deep and groovy, as opposed to a shallow, anxious THC-A dab, for example.

Hits that are harder than the THC levels suggest.

Leafly reviewer

Rolling up Peach Ringz at the Sesh conveys taste and style. A Leafly reviewer says, “I’ve been a heavy smoker for over 10 years and have been introduced to Peach Ringz before. I have never smelled such a good strain, the smell and taste is incredibly peachy, 10/10 if you like fruity strains.”

Peach Ringz mixes light and dark greens with speckles of purple and red pistils. It is lobed, spear-like and dense. The smell can be rather faintly weed, but simply pinch the bud to burst out a few trichomes and a row of 7-11 candies will be in your nostrils.

Reviewers report feeling happy, focused, and bubbly with the strain. But newbies should drink water and choose a safe spot to avoid headaches and anxiety from all the THC power.

How much is Peach Ringz?

Peach Ringz can be sold cheaply in a still, or it can be fancy made by old Emerald Triangle growers who know their crops. Among Northern California’s best strains is UpNorth’s $45 Humboldt Hills True Peach Ringz Flower. We also have mid-sized shopping carts and 40-gram disposables. Los Angeles stores lean more toward cartridges, but grab Stone Road’s Sour Peach Ringz-infused pre-rolls or Punch Extracts’ Level 3 rosin for $40. Portland is where the Peach Ringz flower is cheaper, while Seattle has plenty of still tanks. You can find more prices below.

Peach Ringz Seeds

Two key facts suggest Peach Ringz has what it takes. First, Dying Breed Seeds selected and named Peach Ringz from a cross between Marionberry and Eddy OG. The originals sold out at Platinum Seedbank for $750 a pack. (You can currently grow Dying Breed Seeds for around $350 a pack.) And then other breeders made four generations of crosses out of it. Peach Ozz transitioned into the winning strain, Pearadise. Compound Genetics/Node Labs worked with Peach Ringz to create Gummiez and Jokerz C*ndy. Breeder Tiki Madman has crosses for $250 and Masonic Seeds is selling Sour Peach Ringz (Sowahh Sour D Bx2 x Peach Ringz by Karma Genetics) for a crazy bargain price of $30. Both Ethos Genetics and Zephyr Seeds also sell crosses of this strain.

Peach Ringz Awards

Peach Ringz took 3rd place in the Extract category at the 2017 Secret Cup. More broadly, its breeder Dying Breed Seeds – or the seeds they make – regularly wins trophies. Peach Ringz doesn’t currently compete in many competitions, but his parents and children do.

Peach Ringz Terpenes

Peach Ringz’s aroma molecules closely resemble popular modern exotics. Laboratory testing of samples labeled “Peach Ringz” shows that the average pouch is limonene-dominant on a caryophyllene base with a hint of linalool. We would expect citrus, fuel, and floral notes from these terpenes, and Peach Ringz translates that as sour, pungent, and floral.

More highlights in July

Can’t find peach rings in your shop? Cool. Here are three more strains that will satisfy those with a sweet tooth.

Purple candy

Many legalizing states don’t even allow you to use the word “c*ndy,” so in California, the CAM brand tapped her temples and named her Runtz x Jealousy crossbreed “Candie.” The mass market loves it – people want purple candy and gas all day. The Leafly Strain of 2020 (Runtz) and 2022 (Jealousy) come together in a strain that delivers exactly what its name suggests: grape, sugar candy and the indica hybrid effect.

Rainbow Belt x Now N Later

Clearwater Genetics Rainbow Belts x Now N Later bred by Ember Valley. (David Downs/Leafly)Clearwater Genetics Rainbow Belts x Now N Later bred by Ember Valley. (David Downs/Leafly)

It’s a name that’s facing some regulatory resistance, but Ember Valley has perfected the cultivation of this explosively sweet hybrid from breeder Clearwater Genetics. The light green grass tempts the nose with a rainbow full of candy and looks just as sweet. This sparkling top product has strong THC levels and intense sativa hybrid effects.

ice cream

Mild gelato is available in July. Martyjuana’s Supreme Gelato just won Gold at the California State Fair Cannabis Awards. And Bubblegum Gelato from LA indoor grower Heights beat about 50 other bags to become my July 4th road trip buddy. Smoke some to sizzle. Smoke a lot to fall asleep. Gelato tastes great from wake-and-bake to bedtime. It’s the modern benchmark for terps, flavor, and a versatile hybrid effect. Gelato isn’t neglected this July.
