Jon’s stone cold quarantine cop list: 12th edition
Forgive my delay, but these recent drops have been moving me in slow motion lately! While there was a moment when it looked like things were going to go back to normal, we haven’t been that lucky so we’re back here with another cop list to lighten your spirits.
We’ve been around for over a year now, all of you – wild! It seems like I was wondering just yesterday if anyone would be into something like this, and the amount of you that has stood up in the time since then to show your support has been insane – thank you for rocking with me and for all the recommendations on cool shit for the cop. It’s true what they say, it takes a village to weather a global pandemic of infinite proportions, but there’s no village I’d rather get through the apocalypse!
Without further adieu, here is # 12 – complete with some of the best the industry has to offer right now, but as always, we’re not ubiquitous next.
Ball Family Farms Pre-Rolls

I wanted to pick one of these to talk about, but after trying their flight it would be remiss if I mention any of them individually as it may underestimate the quality of the production here. While their strains are known for their standout smells and quaint buds, this is at the top of my list of favorite pre-rolls so far.
If I had to be specific, I would point out that the Daniel Larusso is as good as you’ve heard, and I’ll probably be writing a full review on it shortly, but seriously – if you really want to enjoy your preroll experience, cop from the family.

Wizard Trees and Deep East did it again! After the hugely successful RS-11 hug from the community in recent years – not least thanks to Doja Pak’s impetus, of course – the duo went back to the lab to reinvent the masterpiece.
A few months later and the result is a much more vibrant version of the RS that we all know and love, with an even more robust nose and taste with the same clean high that is sure to make even the most seasoned smokers giggle again.
I know these guys are going to have a ton of big drops in the next few months, so keep an eye on their social networks for more info – in case Instagram lets them live!
Connected – nightshade

Connected in a HOT line! While Cactus Farms (whose collaboration with none other than Cactus Jack himself, Travis Scott) was launched around the same time, this new half-ounce format is one that I know we can all get behind , now that we’ve switched from traditional retailers to legal retailers.
No disrespect to eighths, but if I like something I cut a few – half is a strong move. While the brand is not yet giving any indication that this new pack size will become a staple, hope remains! As for the buds, let’s just say that Nightshade is one of Connected’s strains. With a nose reminiscent of their iconic biscotti and a bit of the sweetness we’ve seen on Zkittlez and Runtz crosses, Nightshade is sure to be a staple in your turn-down routine.
Doctor Exotics – Lemon Cherry Gelato

In all honesty, when I see Exotics in the name, I don’t always expect a champion-grade product, but I’m happy to report that the Doc lived up to its name. While there have been a ton of people trying to grow LCG lately, few meet the notes you would expect from a strain with such a cute name, but don’t worry about the Doc.
He’s got his PhD in bullshit detection, after all, so these flowers come just as expected – full of ice-cream flavor with hints of lemon and cherry ice cream that really smack your lips. I know these guys are just beginning to dive into the legal market so keep an eye out for a drop near you – everyone will know this name soon.
Saka Spark

Let me start by saying that I never drink alcohol on principle – it’s not about the taste, but the effects never agreed with me – but mocktails have always been very interesting to me and therefore cannabis drinkables were obviously attractive. While the imitation beer products on the market just don’t have the most pleasing flavors in them, Saka Spark has paved a trail in this highly competitive market.
Although they already offer a non-alcoholic rose and chardonnay straight from Napa, their new mimosa product (with real live resin for mimosa varieties) tastes good at all levels that the mocktail market is aiming for. If you’re looking for the perfect mix to replace alcohol at your brunch party, look no further.
Raw Gardens strawberry rosé

While we’re on the alcohol-inspired tip, I also have to say greetings to Raw Gardens Strawberry Rosé Live Resin Diamonds. This is a strong flavor profile, but I’m happy to announce that it is accurately labeled.
With a hint of strawberry sweetness and even that little bit of spicy taste you get when you sip the wine (that’s hard to describe in words, sorry) it has all the notes you would expect and boy does that taste set away through the smoke. I would highly recommend cleaning your rig before throwing in a couple of these diamonds as you will want to enjoy this flavor.
710 Labs die slides

You’ve made the list before, but 710 Labs shouldn’t require an introduction to our readers at this point. The mountaintop in terms of quality concentrates and shared technology (greet the pasta drinks) these guys are also known for doing killer merch. From high profile collaborations (like their new line with the Grape Juice Boys) to unique and engaging housewares, I have to give their Blunt Foils a compliment.
Even if I’m late with these, if you haven’t seen them before, let this be your wake-up call. Much like how people use Backwoods packaging to roll up their blunts through a fold-and-roll technique, the legends at 710 designed some disposable wraps in the same way so you don’t have to throw away all of your wood on a solid roll to get.
On top of that, the little wooden poker included in the pack is the most optimal joint packer I’ve used so far, so all I can say is great things about this one!
It’s also worth noting that 710 feels my pain on the whole eighth thing I complained about earlier and sells their flower exclusively in half-ounce (beautiful) jars. While I love this for a variety of reasons, it’s especially important if you’re trying to get more than one blunt out of your pocket. 710’s answer? Make bigger bags. (Or, glasses, but you get it …)
F / eld x Ember Valley – Ember Mints

If you’ve been dabbing for a while, you should already know about F / eld and its next level extractions. After being picked up by Glass House Group a few years ago, I wasn’t sure the high-end market would still be their focus, but I think this new collaboration with Ember Valley cleared that up for all of us.
This first live resin drop makes me rethink my feelings with daily dabbing as I can’t get enough of this taste, but it’s also so delicious that you’ll want to savor every bite – a challenge even for the most seasoned of us!
Wonderboards Peach oz

Every time Wonderbrett releases a new flavor, I basically drool until I get my hands on it, fantasizing about the terps that will bless my life, and while they never disappoint, few of their creations can match their latest drop . Peach OZ. As a cross between Zkittlez and her coveted OZ Kush, the resulting harvest isn’t just gorgeous on the nose – it’s eye-catching and can hit.
Closer to a true hybrid than the rest of her line, this flower is sure to be a crowd-pleaser for years to come. When in LA stop by the new aisle store on La Brea to check out the larger range, but I assume you will walk home with at least a few peaches in your pocket …
The new vape devices from Alien Labs

To continue the Connected dominance but mark those points in the Alien Labs corner, I have to highlight the new vape technology these guys have brought out. These devices are a bit thicker than their last model and feel completely improved, from battery size to impact strength.
While both brands are naturally introducing these new devices into their product lines, the details of Alien Labs products always make all the difference to me. While with all this extended time in my own home, I may not vape as much as I used to, we’ll be back in the world before you know and when you see me at a concert in the next few months (or years! ) I know I’ll have a few in my pocket to get me through the event safely. We’ll be back soon, I want to believe
