Joints for jabs: Find free weed here
With the von Biden government pushing for 70% of Americans to be vaccinated against Covid-19 by July 4th, a growing number of consumer brands and nonprofits have launched incentive programs to make this happen. Companies offer free donuts, beer, cash, and more for those who get vaccinated. Free weed is also available for some of us 21 and older.
But where do you find it?
We did research to guide you to the programs available in your state.
Arizona
Mint cannabis dispensing point gives out a free pre-roll and vaccine-proof edible in various locations across the country. The well-known cannabis retailer – with locations in Tempe, Mesa, and Phoenix – calls this initiative “Snax for Vaxx,” so keep an eye out when you’re in the area.

Does cannabis interact with a COVID shot?
District of Columbia
Free Weed for Shots emerged in January of this year from the “Joints for Jabs” program by DC Marijuana Justice. The group helped accelerate Covid-Vax efforts in locations across DC by providing a free joint to those who received at least one Covid shot.
While the group has no additional Joints for Jabs promotions planned yet, be sure to keep an eye on the DC Marijuana Justice website for possible announcements of events this summer.
Michigan
The Walled Lake Greenhouse, as part of the Greenhouse pharmacy brand, is continuing their popular Pot for Shots promotion sponsored by UBaked. If you bring proof of vaccination, or at least your first vaccination, you will receive a free UBaked pre-roll. Limit yourself to one per customer, no purchase required.
new York
ACT UP New York group recently hosted two Joints for Jabs events, the first on April 20th. and the second at the annual New York City Cannabis Parade and Rally on May 1st. As these events have been extremely successful, ACT UP is planning a third Joints for Jabs promotion this summer, which will be announced shortly. Walk-up vaccines are also offered upon request. Follow the ACT UP New York Facebook page for the latest announcements and updates.
Oklahoma
If you have a valid medical marijuana license in Oklahoma and proof of vaccination, you can get a King Tut Pre-Roll for a dime. Buds make cannabis in McAlester, the action started over the winter to be an outreach program that would encourage more people to get the vaccine. The King Tut Pre-Roll usually sells for $ 10, so this is a huge incentive. Call ahead to confirm opening times and availability so you can take advantage of this offer while supplies last.
Washington
Washington State’s Liquor and Cannabis Board recently announced that retail licensees across the state will only be able to offer joint-for-jabs giveaways for a limited time (until July 12, in fact). But there’s a catch: customers have to get vaccinated at the cannabis store. You can’t just show up with a vaccination card and get a free joint.
Enter Spokane first Apex cannabis. For a very limited time – Thursday June 17th and Friday June 18th – Apex isn’t just a vaccination reward. They offer vaccinations. Adults who register in advance and get the in-store vaccination at their clinic will receive a free joint and 25% discount on all their purchases. If you come in without prior notice and get vaccinated, you will get the joint and a 15% discount on the purchase.
The Apex vaccination clinic starts on Thursday, June 17th from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. There will be another clinic on Friday, June 18, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m.
Stacey Peterson, owner of Apex Cannabis, told Spokane’s KREM-2 News that she is very excited about the opportunity.
“The main reason with the vaccinations,” Peterson told KREM. “We really want this era to end and for life to return to normal number two, this is a great opportunity for a cannabis retailer to work with the medical community.”
