Joe Exotic launches a new line of cannabis … out of jail

We did it, Joe? Jailed reality TV inferno Joe Exotic has announced that a new line of cannabis will be released with his name on it. Not too many details were released about Joe Exotica Cannabis – we discovered this news thanks to a TMZ report on Benzinga. But Brad Smalls, the man’s attorney, has provided a few pointers on what to expect, including the fact that CBD edibles will be available at pharmacies in California, Colorado, and Oklahoma – the home state of Exotic.

The deal was carried out through Tango Hotel Charlie Group, LLC and Cannaxxs LTD, with Exotic overseeing the deal over phone calls from prison.

According to TMZ:

“Small says the start will be in weeks and a portion of Joe’s profits will go towards caring for tigers in captivity.”

Oh yes, tiger care. This reminds us: Joe’s prison sentence, unlike many of the people we talk about on this website, was not due to racially biased drug war police (like that of Mississippi life prisoner Allen Russell). Rather, he’s imprisoned for the far more reprehensible fact that he molested and even killed tigers and tried to pay to have a human murdered (albeit clumsily if you’ve seen Tiger King).

In case you think these allegations of tiger cruelty were a fantasy made up by Exotic’s rival and arch enemy Carole Baskin – the judge found Exotic guilty on 17 federal animal abuse charges and two charges of attempted murder – here’s the coverage National Geographic condemned him:

“Joe Exotic was convicted of killing and shooting five tigers in the head to make room for other cats. He sold and smuggled tigers and other endangered species, and forged government documents to hide his activities in violation of federal law.

Exotic has long been an Oklahoma legend due to its larger-than-life personal styling and the Greater Wynnewood Exotic Animal Park, where visitors could cuddle real baby tigers. He gained international fame when a Netflix series about his life called Tiger King fell right at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, a prime binge-watching moment if ever there was.

News of its weed stores fell on the same day as the announcement that Exotic would be selling “Joe Exotic-themed digital art cryptocurrencies (?),” Presumably NFTs related to “Tiger King digital tokens and real collectibles.”

“Being able to auction collectibles makes me feel connected to the outside world, especially without my cats by my side,” Exotic said in a press release, as reported by Gizmodo.

It seems that the man is looking for funds.

In fact, TMZ says Exotic calls its life a “living hell,” suggesting that cannabis and NFT money could alleviate this. He is reportedly pushing the Biden administration for a pardon because things didn’t turn out to his liking when he tried to snuggle up with the Orange One for a similar passport. Exotic says he’s “too innocent and too GAY” for Donald Trump to forgive him, and Trump, for his part, called Exotic “a weird guy” who had “a lot of weird people around him”.

We are sorry to quote a man who should never be heard from again – but we trust a twice accused president to know of unsavory fellow travelers.
