CBD comes in many forms, but with so many options to choose from, how do you find the most effective solution to meet your needs?
The way you take CBD depends largely on your personal preference, but each approach has its advantages and disadvantages.
In this article, I'll describe six effective ways to take CBD so you can determine what works best for you.
What is CBD?
CBD is the abbreviation for cannabidiol, one of more than 100 cannabinoids (chemical compounds) found in cannabis plants. The health benefits of cannabis are mainly attributed to these cannabinoids and their interaction with the body through the Endocannabinoid system (ECS).
This non-psychoactive substance is usually extracted from hemp plants, which naturally have a higher ratio of CBD to tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) than marijuana. For this reason, production and sale are subject to fewer restrictions with lower THC levels.
Because CBD is a non-psychoactive substance, it does not produce the euphoric effects that come with a high. It can therefore be used in many different situations, such as by working professionals who can enjoy a calming effect while maintaining a clear head.

Different types of oil are possible.
Full spectrum oils use the entire cannabis plant, including all cannabinoids except CBD.
Full spectrum oil may contain small amounts of THC.
However, the combination of CBD and THC can increase the effectiveness of the product through the so-called entourage effect.
Broad-spectrum oils do not contain THC. To achieve the full CBD effect, the product must go through an additional process to remove this cannabinoid.
CBD tinctures
CBD oil can be mixed with other liquids and administered with a dropper. Tinctures are herbal extracts mixed with a liquid, often vegetable glycerin (VG) or alcohol. CBD tinctures are more commonly made from olive oil, hemp oil, or fractionated coconut oil mixed with CBD oils.

This may be a good choice for patients who require doses throughout the day and want to take CBD discreetly.

CBD capsules
In addition to tinctures, another common method is to take CBD orally in capsule form. Capsules are probably the easiest way to take CBD, and pills come in a variety of strengths, so you can easily adjust the dosage required based on your body mass and needs.
When ingested, CBD capsules first pass through the digestive system and are metabolized before entering the bloodstream. This means that it takes longer for the beneficial effects of CBD to become apparent.
Capsules contain a predetermined dose of CBD, but due to low absorption, you may need to take a higher dose to feel the effects. It is best to take CBD capsules 2-3 times a day, as the effects of CBD only last about 4-6 hours.

Baking CBD oil into food
You can consume delicious CBD in fudge, candy, and baked goods. As long as you know your dose, edibles are one of the most common ways to consume CBD.
Chocolate-covered nuts, mints, lollipops, and truffles are other edibles you can add CBD to. You can also find it in beverages like coffee, beer, and tea that are infused with CBD.
As with any oral intake, it takes longer to feel the effects. After consuming the CBD-infused foods, it may take an hour or more to feel the results.
This depends on your digestive process and how much food you have in your stomach at the time. The effect of the corresponding dose is expected to last about 4 to 6 hours.
You can buy edibles or use CBD oil to make your own CBD edibles. Some people even make special CBD treats for their pets.
For children who suffer from epilepsy, food is a good choice. It can be easier to take than tablets or oils. CBD is a great way to reduce the number and severity of seizures in people with epilepsy. However, the dosage can be harder to control than with capsules or tinctures.

Vaporize CBD oil
Vaporizing allows CBD to enter the body quickly and take effect. It is a cleaner way to inhale CBD than smoking.
Some vapes consist of a battery and use refillable cartridges containing CBD oil. These cartridges are usually disposable and consumers purchase new cartridges when they need them.

Topical products are generally non-psychoactive, regardless of the concentration of THC or CBD.
