How to beat the Munchies – is that even possible?

Cannabis has so many benefits, from emotional or physical pain to spiritual exploration. However, for people who may be plagued by a few extra pounds, there is one downside to cannabis: the nibbles!

But how do you stop them?

Smoke before eating

This approach combats the nibbles by not fighting them at all but by using them in your favor. It simply means that you need to plan when you will decide to smoke in order to take advantage of this natural side effect.

Personally, I like to smoke while cooking a good meal for two reasons:

  1. It helps me enjoy the experience of cooking
  2. I have an appetite after cooking. When I am not smoking, I am usually not interested in eating after cooking for at least an hour. So I can smoke and eat with my family. Yum!

This is definitely a smart way to deal with unhealthy nibbles, but you still give in to the nibbles.

Go on a radical detox

“I broke that cold turkey habit, I just quit one day, it wasn’t that difficult.

The key is not even to eat a bit because once you start it’s hard to stop. ”- Some guy on Reddit

Personally, I don’t think you have to be this drastic, but some people find that the challenge of denying yourself this short-lived pleasure is the way to break the habit. If it works, it works!

But the person is right. Nibbles are compulsive behavior where you start with a donut and suddenly swallow a few more just to be safe.

If you go to cold turkey and test your determination, I would recommend being as religious as possible. However, this can begin to worsen your high as you will always starve yourself after consuming it.

That’s not fun!

Healthy nibbles

One of the best ways to beat the nibbles is to properly plan the nibbles. The biggest problem with the nibbles isn’t that you’re hungry, but rather that you don’t want to chew on sugary, high-calorie junk.

Instead, you can prepare for the nibbles by placing healthy foods in your refrigerator – ready to be consumed in seconds.

For example, make a bowl of roasted peanuts with dried cranberries. Cut the carrot pieces, celery stalks and jicama into small pieces and place in small Tupperware containers in the refrigerator.

You can also make nutritious treats like cocoa with some organic peanut butter, ground nuts, and desiccated coconut, roll into balls, and place in the freezer. That stuff is amazing!

These superfoods will help you overcome your cravings by simply giving your body super nutrient-rich snacks that will fuel your energy levels with all the essentials you need.

There was a season where I drank smoothies for my nibbles every day, just raw organic stuff – I felt AMAZING. I should definitely come back to that!

Smoke away from the source

Another option is to simply make it harder for you to comply. Finally, a compulsion can be reduced if you increase the effort to comply.

For example, only smoke in the forest, away from people and shops. Or lock the refrigerator. Or put your favorite snacks out of reach – all to increase the level of difficulty.

This works for procrastination, but personally I think this is too much of an effort to be a sustainable practice. What if it rains Are you going to run into the woods to get yourself up? Of course not, you will likely be frolicking at home which means you will face the same problem. If women get more nibbles than men after using cannabis, check out this science!

Wait 10 minutes and be attentive

This is one of my personal tricks that has worked for me in the past. Since chewing can be a compulsive habit, this little trick can be used to hack your mind.

Essentially, when you want to chew, just stop what you’re doing, set an alarm for 10 minutes, and just watch your condition.

See what you long for and question it: will this help me or not? Do i really need it? Is there anything better I can do? Usually by the end of the 10 minutes you will have reduced the intensity of the compulsion and then you can make a conscious decision as to whether or not to get involved.

The trick is not to deny yourself, but to become aware of your compulsions. By doing this, you can break free of “automatic responses” and stop becoming a slave to the body. The level of leptin in the body is one of the reasons some people get more nibbles than others.

Sometimes you get shit – and that’s perfectly fine!

But the more you practice mindful chewing, the better you’ll identify the underlying programs that govern much of your behavior.

However, this is not just limited to grass; You can use this trick for anything from gaming to porn, tobacco smoking, or any other problem you may have. A little bit of mindfulness goes a lot!

Bottom line

At the end of the day, you have few options for dealing with the nibbles:

  1. Smoking and eating (meals)
  2. Get healthier snacks
  3. Deny yourself with the “cold turkey” method
  4. Make compliance more difficult
  5. Pay attention to your behavior

Additionally, the only other way to deal with nibbles is not to have them, which means not to smoke weed. Others have suggested that high-CBD cannabis strains reduce nibbles. I’m not entirely sure, but it could be an additional option.
