How the failure of the MORE ACT reveals two classes of society

How marijuana legalization exposed the bluff of US politics

We’re really close to legalizing weed… again. But it has failed because there are politicians who believe cannabis is a gateway drug, or that there is too little or too much social justice in the bills.

As a result, they argue and moan, crushing any thought of legalizing cannabis… and who benefits from all of this? The same industries that have always benefited and that conveniently fund all those politicians who argue and moan.

A recent article entitled “Americans Want to Legalize Marijuana – Their Senators Don’t Want It”. The Hill reported on how the Senate did not vote to pass the Marijuana Opportunity Reinvestment and Expungement (MORE) Act.

Because this is primarily a Democratic bill, you’d think Republicans were the ones delaying this bill—but you’re wrong. It was both Democrats and Republicans who defied the law, and as a result you probably won’t see any action again until sometime in August.

The same thing is happening in Mexico, where politicians have stalled in creating a legal framework for cannabis that has been “technically” legal since 2018. However, we haven’t seen any real movement from them in the last four years, except empty promises.

In some ways, they’re as reluctant as their American counterparts, and given that Biden bailed out Mexico for violating some oil deals, it’s probably safe to say that Mexico owes them some favors. I mean, you can’t mass grow legal weed on the southern border without setting up your own legal cannabis system now, right?

Never mind, that’s just speculation. Probably nothing to do with each other.

Nonetheless, as The Hill pointed out in their article, “Americans want legalization — their senators don’t…”

What we see is that there is something called “The Will of the People” and then there is something called “The Will of the Persons” which is something completely different. Folks, it’s you and me – the person who partakes in the parlor game, pays taxes, casts votes, etc.

A “person” is a legal entity that has similar rights to persons, but is not a “natural person”.

Upcounsel.com explained;

Businesses have some of the same rights as people. This is referred to as corporate personhood. It’s the idea that a company has its own rights. Corporate personhood has been around much longer than many people realize.

Corporate personhood isn’t just for big companies. As long as a company is incorporated, it can benefit from the corporation. Organizations that benefit from Corporate Personhood include:

  • Large companies

  • Small businesses

  • churches

  • Profit-Oriented Organizations

Because it bought land, the Catholic Church is one of the earliest examples of corporate personality – Upcounsel.com

While these companies don’t have exactly the same rights as an individual, they do have certain rights that humans do. This includes rights such as freedom of expression. Corporate personhood advocates believe it’s a way for companies to protect themselves from the government — which makes sense.

If corporations didn’t have some kind of protected rights, the government could easily arm them through laws or regulations to get their way. However, critics of the body claim that companies have “more rights” than individuals because of their funding.

Businesses use this right to buy political favors. Because of this, all big corporations have “lobby groups,” which are essentially “lawbrokers” who find politicians to work with them to pass laws. These politicians don’t just deal with the law – they benefit from the companies.

For this reason, critics of Corporate Personhood claim that corporations have more rights than individuals. Finally, how is your private lobby group doing in the White House? Oh yes, that’s right – no real person has a lobby group for changing the law!

While some of you may be confused as to what I’m getting at with all of this, rest assured it will all make sense in a minute.

The people the product of the person

Now that we’ve established that “We the People” and “We the Persons” are two different groups, it’s time to put everything together.

First, if “we the people” had been the main motivator for politicians to “get things done”, cannabis would have been legalized the moment we reached 60% approval rating. It would mean that the majority of the population would be in favor of something – politicians would have to react accordingly and start changing the laws to meet voter expectations.

This is how it should work.

But you see, the government’s great bluff is that while they claim to represent “we the people,” they are actually in the pockets of “we the people.” When 38 incumbent US Senators have interests in the pharmaceutical industry and enact legislation that benefits their donors – that is an example of “We the Persons” being served.

But more importantly, we urgently need to understand that this separation is the only true separation in society that we should be concerned about. The “people” want to keep the “people” in the fight – which is why they constantly sow divisions. They want people to fight about race, privilege, sex, about every little thing in their lives – as long as they are not aware that there are only two classes in society.

I think someone who summed it up pretty well was the late and great comedian George Carlin when he remarked, “It’s a big club – and you’re not in it!”

“But there’s a reason. There’s a reason. There’s a reason, there’s a reason education sucks, and it’s the same reason it will never, ever, ever be fixed. It never gets better. Don’t look for it. Be happy with what you have. Because that’s not what the owners of this land want. I’m talking now about the real owners, the real owners, the big wealthy business interests that control things and make all the important decisions.

Forget the politicians.

Politicians are there to give you the idea that you have free choice. Not you. You have no choice. You have owners. they own you You own everything. They own all the important lands. They own and control the companies. They’ve already bought and paid for the Senate, Congress, State Houses, City Halls, they have the judges in their back pocket, and they own all the major media outlets, so they control pretty much all the news and information you get to hear. They caught you by the balls. They spend billions of dollars lobbying every year to get what they want. Well we know what they want.

They want more for themselves and less for everyone else, but I’ll tell you what they don’t want: They don’t want a population of citizens capable of critical thinking. They don’t want well-informed, well-educated people capable of critical thinking. She doesn’t care. That doesn’t help them. It’s against their interests. It’s correct. They don’t want people smart enough to sit around a kitchen table to find out how screwed they are by a system that threw them overboard 30 years ago. They don’t want that.

Do you know what they want?

They want obedient workers. Obedient workers. People just smart enough to operate the machines and do the paperwork, and just dumb enough, all these increasingly crappy jobs with the lower pay, the longer hours, the reduced benefits, the end of overtime and the disappearance of pensions, who disappear, passively accept it the moment you pick it up, and now they’re coming for your Social Security money.

They want your retirement money. They want it back so they can give it to their crime buddies on Wall Street, and you know something? you will get it. Sooner or later they will get everything from you because they own this damn place.

It’s a big club and you’re not in it.

You and I are not in the big club. And by the way, it’s the same big club they hit you on the head with all day when they tell you what to believe. All day long they beat you over the head in their media and tell you what to believe, what to think and what to buy.

The table has tilted, folks.

The game is rigged and nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care. Good honest hard working people – white collar, blue collar workers, it doesn’t matter what color shirt you wear – good honest hard working people carry on – these are people of modest means – keep voting these rich cocksuckers who don’t fuck her.

They don’t care about you.

They don’t care about you. They don’t care about you at all – at all – at all. And nobody seems to notice, nobody seems to care. That’s what the owners rely on; the fact that Americans will probably willfully ignore the big red, white, and blue cock that gets shoved up their asshole every day. Because the owners of this land know the truth: It’s called the American Dream because you have to sleep to believe it.”

– George Carlin

The “owners,” as Carlin calls them, have you and me by the balls, and the latest blunder of not legalizing cannabis is just another example that shows us Carlin was right. We are not represented by our leaders and maybe it’s time for a new way of connecting with society. We are so dependent on these owners that we can no longer imagine life without them.

But it is these owners who make billions by piling up corpses, waging war, using our sons and daughters as toy soldiers in an endless conflict that bleeds the color of oil and money.

Don’t let the theater fool you – you are the product… you always have been. The question is, now that you know – what can you do about it?
