How much do vape carts cost?

Vaping cannabis isn't a cheap hobby, but it doesn't have to bankrupt you if you're a savvy shopper. The cost of a weed cart depends on the type of wax concentrate it contains, the size of the cart, your geographic location, and whether you're shopping online or in person.

There are many options to choose from such as Live Resin, Delta 8 THC, CBD Distillate, Full Spectrum and more. The price varies but in the long run the biggest cost to the vaper is the cannabis cartridge as they constantly have to buy a new cartridge when the old one runs out.

There is no shortage of stores that sell vape cartridges, but it is important to understand that when you go into a store, price is not the only price available. There are many different types of Cartridges and different stores that offer them. So with a little browsing and prior knowledge, you can find your favorite shopping cart at an affordable price.

Below we will examine a few different cartridge types and their typical price range. The price range is based on a price comparison of several online stores and in our area. Live resin wagon

1G – $25-60

0.5G – $25-70

300MG – $19-45

These cartridges have a medium to high THC content and contain the entire chemical composition of the cannabis plant. The typical price of these cartridges falls into the more expensive category compared to others mainly due to the production process.

For a 1/2g Live Resin cartridge, the price starts at around $25-$30. Prices can go up to $80, but the average for a 1/2g Live Resin cartridge is $25-$70.

However, there are also stores where you can find some for as little as $15, but the above range is the price range you will usually find.

Another type is the 300mg Live Resin. This type of cartridge has a price range of $19 to $45, with most on the higher end around $45.

CBD cartridges

2G – $30-60

1G – $20-60

200MG – $20-30

The appeal of CBD is that you can get the therapeutic effect without getting “high.” They contain less than 0.3% THC and are derived from a cannabis plant. While they don't get you high, they can relieve pain and have a calming, soothing effect.

CBD is growing in popularity, which is reflected in the prices and variety of CBD cartridges on the market. This variety and abundance of product leads to significant price fluctuations. The typical price range for a 1 gram cartridge of CBD cartridges is between $20 and $60.

Some available options range from 200mg all the way up to 2g. As expected, the 2g CBD cartridges are more expensive, with most costing between $30 and $60. But again, due to the wide price fluctuations, some stores charge up to $100 for a 2g cartridge. On the lower end is the 200mg variant, which can cost under $20 but mostly stays around $30.

Although all of these sizes are available at lower prices as mentioned, some skepticism is warranted with these lower prices. The cheaper cartridges, whether 2g, 1g, 500mg or 200mg, may be of lower quality, so caution should be exercised when purchasing these cheaper cartridges.

THC cartridges

Delta 9 1G – $30-50

Delta 8 1G – $15-30

Delta 10 1G – $25-40

THC cartridges, or dab cartridges, come in many varieties, such as Delta 8, 9, and 10. Each of these achieves the goal of getting the user “high,” but to varying degrees. Delta 9 is the most requested variety, but each has formed its own community of users. Loopholes in the law allowed the sale of Delta 8 or 10 cartridges in states where it was not legal, as long as they were derived from hemp and not cannabis.

1g Delta-9 THC cartridges cost between $30 and $50. A 2g cartridge, on the other hand, can be purchased for as little as $50.

A Delta 8 THC cartridge gives its users a milder “high”. This lower intensity “high” is why it is often associated with beginners or those who don't like getting too “high”. This lower intensity and association with beginners causes the price to be on the lower end. A 1g Delta 8 cartridge can cost as much as $10. However, they tend to stay in the $15-$30 range.

Delta-10 THC cartridges are laborious to produce, so they are usually mixed with other cannabinoids. Their price is generally around the same level as the Delta-8 or Delta-9 types, but depends more on which cannabinoids they combine to form the cartridge's contents. The range for this cartridge is between $25 and $40 per 1g.

Why do cartridge prices vary across the country?

Each state has its own market for the products it sells. Some states with larger populations and more established markets, like California, have lower prices than states where cannabis has only recently been legalized.

There are several reasons for the price difference between vaping carts.

  • Demand – Vaping is becoming more popular, but every location has a different demographic. Some states have more vaping than others, meaning users in those states have a higher demand for cartridges. States with lower demand will have different prices. The same scenario applies to the different cartridge types as well. If more people in a particular state use CBD cartridges than other cartridges, those cartridges will not only be more expensive than other cartridge types in that state, but they will also be more expensive than states where CBD is the least in-demand cartridge. Supply must also be considered; if a cartridge is over- or under-supplied in a state, it will affect prices.
  • Tax rates on vaping products – Some states impose taxes on all vaping products, including cartridges. These taxes, imposed on the supplier and the product manufacturer, are reflected in consumer prices. Some taxes are calculated per unit price or wholesale price, but in any case, they affect the retail price. Minnesota has the highest tax rate on both, with a wholesale price of 95%, and Kentucky has a tax rate of $1.50 per unit. So these states would most likely have higher prices, while states with lower or no taxes would have lower prices.

With these factors in mind, each vendor in each state calculates their vaping cartridge prices. Some vendors may have cartridges on the cheaper end of the price scale, while others may have more expensive cartridges.

The number of people vaping cannabis has increased in recent years. This increase means that more people are looking for cannabis cartridges. Which cartridge to purchase depends on a person's smoking habits, desired results, and budget. It is possible to find cartridges for up to $100, but in some cases they can cost as little as $10. Shopping around and exploring multiple websites and stores might be the best way to find cheaper cartridges. But for some, spending the extra few dollars for a higher quality cartridge is worth it. It all depends on the person.
