How does Delta-10 compare to Delta-8 and THC?

The alternative THC wave hits the cannabis industry like a hurricane with a whole new wealth of cannabinoids and products. A few months ago I tried Delta-8 gummies so people could see how they were feeling, and today I’m back to tell you about Delta-10, the newest THC kid on the block.

The world has always known about THC or Delta-9. It’s what you get when you consume the most cannabis, and it creates the traditional weed high – the strong noise behind the eyes and in the body that lasts for hours.

For some, Delta-9 is too much to handle and can make you anxious or uncomfortable. This is where Delta-8 and Delta-10 come in, and that’s why companies have started making them from hemp.

I’m here to tell you how Delta-10 compares to Delta-8 and THC (Delta-9), and if it really is the lightest high of all.

Set a base experience: THC (Delta-9)

To compare the three THCs, I started with a baseline: regular THC or Delta-9. I smoked Apple Fritter and Gello Flower and felt the usual effects of cannabis that Katt Williams stuck in our heads years ago: hungry, happy, and sleepy. Apple fritters are usually uplifting smoke for the day that can give you mental energy to complete a list of tasks. Gello is usually calming and heavy.

After smoking apple fritters, I felt awake and productive for about four hours, then it ended in a yawning comedown. With Gello, I felt relaxed and super stoned for six hours, until the high was so relaxing that I became sleepy.

I also ate a couple of Journeyman’s Blueberry Lemonade Gummies. Edibles always give me a heavy body high that takes a nap to subside. About an hour after I ate two of them, my body felt very loose. When I woke up, I had this persistent, “Oh yeah, I ate edibles last night, didn’t I?” some kind of edible hangover that usually keeps me away from them. But delicious gummy bears.

So I expected all of these products to arrive, so really no surprises with Delta-9 THC.

Summary of the effects of Delta-8

It pained me to send this text to another cannabis journalist: “I think I’m fucking with Delta-8.” But here we are. It feels really great.

I reviewed Delta-8 gummies from Smokiez-Edibles a few months ago: they feel like a lighter, more manageable high than THC, and they’re also uplifting and energizing, like the working version of an exercise supplement – they keep you productive for hours on end Piece.

After smoking Delta-8 Bubba Kush Flower by Delta Extrax, I’m here to confirm that these Delta-8 feelings are consistent.

I smoked a lot of Bubba Kush in my time. Traditionally, it hits my head with strong stimulation that makes my thoughts fly everywhere. It’s not exactly an uplifting type of head high like a Haze, but more of a “sit back and reflect on life” high that makes me relax into self-reflection. That’s why I never smoke Bubba in the morning and always aim for the end of the day.

However, with the Delta-8 version of Bubba Kush Flower, I was able to smoke it during the wake ‘n bake and still be productive. It gave me all of the uplifting, mentally stimulating feelings of Bubba Kush without the intense relaxation that can derail a little at times.

Surprisingly, the effects hit a little more in the head than I’d expect from Delta-8 after the Smokiez experience was so bland, but I attribute this to the difference between smoking flowers and eating edibles and processing both back through my body.

All in all, it made me believe that Delta-8 really might be the perfect cannabinoid for someone who can’t handle real weed but still wants to smoke.

How does Delta-10 feel?

Many of the Delta-10 products that you see online are actually a mix of Delta-8 and Delta-10. Delta-10 is usually synthesized from CBD in very small amounts, so it is extremely costly to make products that are made entirely of Delta-10.

I bought the Tropical Delta-8 + Delta-10 rubbers from Delta Extrax – Delta-8 “enriched” with Delta-10. Same goes for Delta Extrax’s Maui Wowie Vape Cartridge, which is made up of 70-75% Delta-8, 15-20% Delta-10 and 5-10% terpenes for flavor.

After using both products, I regret to tell you: Delta-10 was not worth it.

During my first try, I started the day on Delta-10 before consuming other types of THC so I really knew what the high felt like. I consumed the Maui Wowie Delta-10 vape cartridge in the morning and later in the evening ate the Delta-8 + Delta-10 Tropical gummies.

As for the vape cartridge, their website recommends slapping it once or twice for tolerance. Knowing how used my body is to pulling weeds, I decided to hit it 10 times in a row. I figured that 10 times the recommended dose would have extreme effects that would help me know exactly how Delta-10 was supposed to feel and what purpose it could serve.

In the end, I felt pretty much nothing. Not even a slight change in my body that let me know that there was a new substance in it. Delta-10 is advertised as the lightest of them all, but I still expected to feel some kind of head noise. Nope.

I later ate six of the 40mg Delta-10 + Delta-8 gums and the experience was satisfactory. Unlike the vape pen, the rubbers actually hit me with a slight head high that gave my face an uncomfortable buzzing sensation.

However, I attribute this more to the Delta-8 in the rubbers than to the Delta-10, considering the composition of the products. Even with the Delta-8 boost, Delta-10 seems way too light for my taste.

The final call to Delta-9, Delta-8 and Delta-10

Although they are all THC, in the end it is very clear that Delta-8, Delta-9, and Delta-10 are all for different types of cannabis users. Delta-8 is great when you want to smoke good weed during the day but don’t want to feel sleepy and stuck when the effects wear off. I can envision implementing Delta-8 in my morning cannabis ritual once the companies have fine-tuned production.

Compared to regular THC, Delta-8 is definitely lighter and more manageable for the average cannabis user. Still, THC flower offers a whole plant experience and extractors have mastered making vape carts and other concentrates out of it. So with THC or Delta-9, you get a much wider selection of legal products from trusted companies.

As for Delta-10, I should maybe try different products, but it feels like my body has no room for this cannabinoid. It just doesn’t need to. I like getting stoned and gauging the intensity of different strains from different breeders. I enjoy the heavy relaxation of a strain like White Tahoe Cookies or the heavy, uplifting feelings of a strain like Super Silver Haze.

With Delta-10, even if I didn’t want the severity of these highs, I wouldn’t expect any of the other effects. The Maui Wowie wagon tasted sweet, and in the end that was its most redeeming quality in my opinion. But the lack of any intensity in the high never made me come back.

So instead of being for cannabis users, maybe Delta-10 could be great for helping people quit cigarettes. People who find smoking therapeutic but do not want anything that affects their health.

If I rank the THC types I would say: Delta-9 THC as an all-time champion, Delta-8 as a distant second that should still be recognized, and Delta-10 as the standard third.
