Hacks to turn your bathroom into a spa
While the bathroom is a central, functional part of the home, like the kitchen, it is also a central place to relax and unwind. A study of 2,000 adults found that 42 percent go to the bathroom often to get some peace and quiet away from the rest of their household. It’s such a happy place that 55% of respondents regularly take extra-long baths or showers to have more time for themselves.
But not everyone can afford to redesign a bathroom and turn it into something spectacular. That’s why here are some simple tricks you can use to turn your bathroom into a spa.
Change your shower head
A good shower head can change your life, and if you’ve never changed your life before, you’ll certainly appreciate this tip. Replacing showerheads is very easy, so you can do it yourself, and there are a few cheap (good) showerheads you can buy online or at your nearest hardware store.

This $20 rainfall showerhead is great if you use the standard showerhead that came with your bathroom. If you want to go a little crazy and splurge, for $50 you can buy this shower head that changes the lights, regulates the water temperature, and makes you feel like you’re showering in space.
Oil diffusers and candles
A candle is a really important item for your bathroom because it provides a pleasant scent and provides coziness and warmth. Oil diffusers are also great and less flammable, giving you the feeling of owning and managing a really great spa. Both items are easy to purchase and will significantly change the mood and atmosphere of your bathroom.
Clear toiletries clutter
Nothing is more stressful than a bunch of toothpaste, pads, hairbrushes and lotions all piled together because you can’t find a place for them. Invest in jars and other containers that look good and keep things organized. Mason jars are a classic and inexpensive option for cotton swabs, cotton balls, and other loose items. Be sure to get rid of the toiletries and empty product bottles that are clogging up your bathroom in the meantime.
Bath salts and scented soaps
Bath salts are great and super relaxing, working wonders for your skin and making you feel like you’re doing something good by spending time in your bathroom. While baths are time-consuming and annoying (since you have to scrub your tub clean before using them), with the right tools they can be a pretty delicious experience.
