Google could help you choose a Halloween costume

Halloween costumes can be a hassle, so a little suggestion can go a long way… and Google has just the trick

Halloween is just around the corner and people are thinking about what to do over the weekend and on Halloween night. Stay home, stay home and hand out candy, go out in a costume, buy a black mask for $3 and call it a day.? Decisions and stress.

According to data from the latest Yahoo/YouGov poll, most U.S. adults won’t dress up. The survey found that 22% are choosing to dress up for the spooky holiday, but a whopping 63% have decided to skip this season, while 14% haven’t decided either way. Depending on what you like to do, one side is wrong. For those who like to dress up, Google could help you choose a Halloween costume.

Google Trends has created a spooky page called Frightgeist that lists the most popular costumes and what’s most popular in each state. There are several sections, including a map of the US with the most searched costumes by state and the ability to search for a costume based on your personal preferences.

According to the survey, a slightly smaller percentage will make their own costumes instead of buying them (hello Amazon!). A small group has their outfit made by someone else, while another brings an existing one from their own closet.

And another group is still undecided. Here are some of the most popular Halloween costumes you should consider

Barbie

The blockbuster film lives on in many ways – especially the top choice in this year’s costume. People can’t get enough of Barbie and why not recreate the movie with Barbie costumes?

Spider-Man

Superheroes rule as top costume and Spiderman wins. It could be that it is a simple costume. The gays love it for some reason and are really focused on Spidey being the sexist hero. Superman and Batman come after him.

princess

Princesses were the king (or queen) of Halloween for a long time until they were surpassed by superheroes. People of all ages still love the costume, which ranks in the top 5 costume lists every year. Very simple and you can’t go wrong, and who wouldn’t want to be a princess or prince for a day?

Witch

Witch costumes are a classic, easy to make and part of Halloween lore. Ironically, the first known witch costume was nudity – no clothing at all – depicted in paintings. But years later the look evolved due to political ties, Hollywood’s take on these magical creatures went from Hocus Pocus to Bewitched, giving you plenty to choose from.

In 2015, costume manufacturer Rubie’s Costume Company developed a line of inflatable dinosaur costumes as a merchandise tie-in to Jurassic World. Rubie’s T. rex costume, which featured a comically large, bobbing head, became popular in pranks, visual gags and as internet memes. It may be a bit big for crowded parties, but people will cheer at your success.

After all, the extremely sexy costume is available from Dallas to West Hollywood to Toronto. The revealing Halloween costume emerged in two waves – first in the 1970s after the sexual revolution and second in the early 2000s after the release of pivotal films depicting mostly women embracing the sexy Halloween costumes. In West Hollywood, a large portion of the man’s costumes consist of underwear, showing that he is a cop, a superhero, a cowboy, etc.

Google could help you choose a Halloween costume, or you can let your creative, sexy inspiration propel you into something really fun!
