Former NHL champion Darren McCarty explores the cannabis NFT marketplace with NFTrogs

Former Detroit Red Wing and NHL star Darren McCarty participates in NFTs that are conquering the cannabis community. Perhaps out of curiosity, the ex-enforcer recently bought an NFT from Australian artist TROG, “Your Favorite Cannabis Culture Artist,” who is launching NFTrogs with McCarty as an early buyer.

The first version of NFT was released publicly on the Ethereum ERC-20 platform on January 10th, with the intention of expanding to other chains like Binance Chain and others in the near future. Ethereum (CRYPTO: ETH) blockchain and its token Ether – the second most valuable cryptocurrency – is only lagging behind Bitcoin in value.

The team shapes and currently offers NFTrogs on OpenSea. So for beginners who don’t have an OpenSea account, it’s a good time to sign up and they need to choose a wallet as well.

The characters of TROG recall his extensive work drawing posters for cannabis events. You can spot his trippy characters from his Killer Weed Coloring Book or Deadlines, a scrapbook with his endless portfolio of cannabis event posters. He is proud to announce one of four NFT drops that make up the first 100 characters. The first round was released and sold on January 10th. The characters are individual NFTs from TROG, but he builds digital contracts so each NFT has its own added bonus.

Meanwhile, McCarty was in the cannabis industry, launching cannabis flower and hemp products under the The Darren McCarty brand about two years ago in partnership with Pincanna, and he also recently introduced his collection of THC, CBD and CBN gums before.

McCarty bought NFT TROG # 25, one of the earliest characters available on an NFT. “This is four-time Stanley Cup champion Darren McCarty,” the former High Times enforcer said in a video message. “Well, NFTs and all that stuff – I’m just starting to learn about them. But all I heard was […] ‘TROUGH.’ The eyeballs, man! Count me in! TROG-NFTs. You should be too. “

If you don’t understand NFTs, you are not alone. NFTs – or non-fungible tokens – are often part of the Ethereum blockchain. Ethereum is a cryptocurrency like Bitcoin or Dogecoin, but its blockchain also supports these NFTs. “Non-fungible” more or less means that it is unique and cannot be replaced by anything else. They only exist online, sometimes as a JPEG, but they have real value.

How NFTs Work

People who get into NFTs hope their money will grow. “Say you got NFT TROG # 26,” TROG told the High Times. “You buy this NFT, it’s in your digital wallet, and in three days you will receive a message from us with a QR code. You scan this QR code to receive your disclosure. “

The system makes money grow. “Or a seed falls out of your NFT, this seed appears in your digital wallet,” said TROG. “It will sprout in five days … in another five days it will become a small plant, then in two weeks it will become a larger plant. Then in 30 days, bags of buds will appear in your digital wallet. These sacks of buds are real new NFTs that have contracts attached to them – you can sell these buds as an NFT sale or hang on to as you see fit. “

Each NFTrogs is also the key to unlocking a canvas series of 10 artworks – if you own the NFT it gives that owner the chance to buy the number one canvas in that series.

“You may be given a QR code – and if it’s scanned, it can send you a picture of your character with a broken bong and a code to redeem. You contact us directly and we will redeem your code and send this person a new TROG GLASS bong. Or you will receive a message that your grinder is broken and a code to redeem to get a new grinder, etc.

TROG GLASS offers beautiful pieces of glass – cups, bongs and more – with the cartoon characters from TROG.

TROG said it can dump collector’s artwork that includes free tickets to cannabis events or festivals in which it participates for owners of NFTrogs.
